PS3 Discussion

Re: PS3 release date and price revealed!

And no one said anyone is flippiing out on UC. You're flipping out over the thought that someone is saying that people are flipping out on UC when no one has said so.
That's where you're wrong. I'm not blind. I know no one said U.C. *I* said I was referring to UC to what UQ quoted me on.

You're completely misinterpreting what I'm saying and are wrong in thinking for what I'm thinking.

That's a third party product. It's not Sony doing the ripping-off.

I was going to say that.

Sony has ripped of Microsoft and Nintendo but I'm not going to blame them for this control pad that I can only describe as The Frankenstein as it is like the stuck parts of PS2 pads and I can't put my finger on it but i think there is part 360 there too.

Sad thing is even to the retarded person it's obvious PS3 is the worst system out yet I bet they still sell loads to 1) Sony fanboys if they have any left 2) rich little brats who would only want it because it cost the most and 3) people who like one of their exclusives or 4) people like me who will buy it for blue ray

Cmpletey disagreeable agree on that previous mentioned four statments for the combined junction of the third party and fourth party concerning the misinterpretation of the sixth incident on the twenty fourth of may in the year two thousand and fourteen, the night in question.

I didn't understand anything, but I came in my pants. Now I'm confused.

Re: PS3 Discussion. Come, join the laughs.

Does anyone here actually have a PS3? Does anyone who has a PS3 also have an XBox 360? How do they compare as far as graphics?

I've got a PS3. I do not have a 360 and I have yet to play one. I have of course seen them around at friends houses and places like best buy. It's pretty close but I think the 360 may have better graphics at this point. Maybe it's because it has been out longer so developers are used to working with it or maybe it's just better period. Still, what I've seen so far from Resistense Fall of Man and TH Project 8 look absolutely incredible. The major difference to me would be that some lighting effects look nicer on the 360. Things seem a little darker on the PS3.

There is an off road game for PS3 that looks incredible graphics-wise. Same for NBA 07 - that might be the best looking sports game I've ever seen. But of the other games I've seen that are available on both systems, the 360 seems to look better.

I'm currently downloading the demo for MotorStorm as I type this. It looks like it will be a blast.

I saw a head to head comparinson on gamespot.com that showed a few of the games that were out for both the 360 and the PS3 and each one looked better on the 360.

Edit: I just took a break from work and played a little bit of the MotorStorm demo. All I have to say is if the demo is this good the game is going to be amazitacularpendous.

Resistence: Fall of Man Online is quite awesome as well.

With luck I'll have a ps3 in March! :D
I can't wait to play Genji and Resistance, but the ones that I'm looking forward too are Lair, Armored Core 4, Heavenly Sword and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Final Fantasy and Metal Gear go without need of mention.

Im no sony fanboy. I am no rich little brat. I kinda like the exclusives, but that was not why I will buy the ps3. And no, Im not retarded.
I've chosen the playstation because I was afraid that my xbox would overheat as the many I've heard and saw myself. It was my first choice but I've dropped it after some of my friends that bought it had to pay high for the fix.
The wii is a good console, but I don't like the games in there. Zelda was really good, but not even close of "best game ever" as I've seem people saying it, or maybe I just moved on. I will get the playstation because for me it has a good future. The seven processors, IF USED RIGHT, can be much more faster then any other console.
Everyone right now is using them as general purpose processors, like in the Xbox360 that has 3 of them (all of them are more powerfull then one cell processor) that way you can use the full power of PS3 that has one general purpose core and other six dedicated specific-use type of processors. But the programing in the PS3 (if done right) takes much more time (because they don't really know how to program) and it's much more harder. If given enough time, PS3 will show it's capabilities and We will be able to judge which one is the best. Take Lair for example that will be released in May (I think) and uses one of the processors just for the water in the game. It's the best damn water I've seen in a game.

Nothing that I've said is 100% truth, of course Xbox360 could totally break PS3 legs in the future, but I'm betting on the PS3 for now.
And sorry If the post has to many typos or something like that. I just don't like to be called a retard for no reason.

I own both a Playstation 3 and an Xbox 360...the graphics are practically the same. In fact; I don't think that the PS3 has anything that's as visually impressive as Gears of War. I do, however enjoy both consoles, and as I understand it, the 360 is at it's peak of graphical potential, while the PS3 still has a ways to go in terms of games looking better visually.

While I like them both, the 360 is clearly the better system right now.

Do you know WHY no developer uses all seven processors? Because it means that the game would have to be exclusive to the PS3 and the only way for it to actually make money is if it sold over 500,000 copies. . .which, for a video game, means its a huge blockbuster. That's how ridiculously high development costs for the game are. To give you an example, development usually costs about 8 million and that's for a high profile game. A PS3 game using it to its maximum potential, costs a whopping 21 million to make. That's a gigantic jump.

There's only about a million PS3s in America. Half of the PS3 owners would have to buy that game to make a profit. It's much more profitable to make a game multi-platform (For the PS3 AND the 360) or to make a game just for the 360 (Loads cheaper than making a PS3 game) or a Wii (Loads cheaper then making a 360 game).

Wii, right now, has the best shot at winning. It's extremely innovative, its marketed to the non-gamer/casual gamer and they're actually buying it, and its dirt cheap. I mean . . . its a home console that costs as much as a PSP. And while I've always loved Nintendo, I've known its been the underdog since the dawning days of the 64. Even the new Zelda, while good, was far from my favorite. To put this in perspective, I recently read a consumer report that predicted 30% of American homes will own a Wii by 2011. That is simply a huge amount, seeing as the gaming demographic isn't that large.

360 will come in next. It has a year head start, its Premium system is 100 dollars cheaper than PS3's Core system, and its much easier and more profitable to develop for.

PS3 won't have a major blockbuster game until . . . Q4 2007, assuming, of course, that MGS4 comes out on time. I mean, its only been two months since release and I can walk in several stores near me and find a PS3. And Sony's still having production problems, evidenced by the removal of the PS2 Emotion Chip in the European releases. I remember the PS2 was sold out for six months, if not more. The Wii is still difficult to find. Even the 360 was difficult to find for several months afterward, and that was after they had gotten past the production bottleneck.

I just can't see why people put so much faith in the PS3. It's a dud and that won't change for at least another 9 months, if MGS4 gets released. And even then, the MGS series isn't a huge seller compared to the Final Fantasy series. Sony's in trouble and they need to think of a solution . . . fast.

I didn't know that. That's pretty expensive, what is the bigger cost of the game in the ps3?
EDIT: It is a real question, I'm really interested in game development (seeing that It's my work u.u)

PS3 is not selling in Europe yet. Xbox360 is out for at least 1 year and PS3 has only 3 and a half months in Japan and USA, pretty unfair comparation.

I don't count wii as a rival. His price and new gameplay makes it much more different then PS3 or Xbox. If you are counting nintendo on the "Console wars" of course it will win.

360 will come in next. It has a year head start, its Premium system is 100 dollars cheaper than PS3's Core system, and its much easier and more profitable to develop for.

Yes it came one year before and it's cheaper. But then you have to see that the PS3 has the Blu Ray player wich is the thing that made it more expensive. For now it is much easier and profitable to develop for microsoft.

Xobx360 had a release without Wii and PS3. I understand that Sony had a lot of difficulties.

I don't understand why people hate Sony so much too. See? It's different for each person, I believe in Sony, I may be wrong, but It's what I want, I want a PS3! You say that it won't change for 9 months, I disagree. I think that there will be a difference in the June of 2007. With the Europe release and several games released too (about time).
