Yeah, if I remember right, there's Region 1 and 2. I may be wrong.

I thought if anything there'd be 4 regions. But like I said, with teh PS3, it doesnt matter.wait i was wrong.

Ps3 is suposed to be Region free with games.
If not, still is a good thing to buy in the US instead of here, the games always come overpriced and you save money if you import them. I ****ing hate this.

I checked it out last night. I played Ultimate Spider-man, Resident Evil 4, Ultimate Alliance, and Bully to see if there was any difference. I saw none on my TV(not HD). I think maybe Ultimate Quicksilver is right about it only doing this on HD tvs.
Edit: Sony just released the 1.5 firmware update. It fixes the ps1 and ps2 resolution problems on HD TVs among other things.

It's sad though, that I still want a PS3. Only for RPGs. But if they even loose Square Enix, I won't have to worry about that anymore.

The PS2 controller was one of the best controllers ever made. You only change something if it doesn't work. You don't change something that works extremely well, like the PS2 controller.
Unless you make them made out of pineapples. Then change is good.

People make too much of a big deal out of 'rip-offs'. The notion that certain technologies and 'devices' should be exclusive or 'proprietary' is exactly what impedes the creative progress of mankind.A little something S&P showed me just now:

But it's a ripoff not because anything should stay "exclusive" but that no one thinks original these day and only copy what others do with these things because they're too lazy to try and compete to think of new things.

I wasn't talking about you or anyone else in this board in specific. I was referring to the popular logic that seems to think that when someone copies someone else it's automatically a 'bad' thing, when in fact being 'derivative' is essential to the notion of human progress.
In Hollywood that's known as the race to be second. Because the first usually suffers a few hiccups along the way.Ice said:

The thing is that in comics culture, it's already well accepted that we are a rather incestuous one --- elements mashing into one another, writers referencing one anothers tropes --- that no one really cares about making 'originality' a point of serious contention.
Videogame boards are highly obsessed with which game was the originator of some new design-trend or technology or interface solution or content-flavor, and as such a lot of discussions just devolve into "this game ripped off this" and "my favorite developer is better than your favorite developer".
I'm not just talking about console fanboyism, just a general mentality that refuses to recognize the validity of a 'smart mob' of creators, designers and innovators --- and prefers to champion select groups and individuals as the progenitors of something.
At least when we talk of comics history, we talk of large-sweeping trends or cultural influences (while still being able to acknowledge the seminal importance of key works and notable creators and not downplay their influence as singular individuals) or a wave of certain conventions and reflections.
