So I was told this morning that someone was shot somewhere here in CT because he wouldn't give up his money for the PS3. And I think it was anothe guy who was beat up as well for this.

I went into Wal-Mart last night to buy a Wii game and walked out with a shiny new 60GB PS3 and Resistance Fall Of Man. I've been planning on buying one but I've not been looking too hard, I guess I just thought they would be impossible to find.
First thing out of my mouth upon opening the box was "god this thing is huge" not to mention really heavy (insert "that's what she said" joke here). At first the size and weight was kinda a turn-off as I prefer my electronics small as can be, but the system seems really sturdy. Even in the verticle position I feel like it couldn't be knocked over too easily. The power and eject buttons are touch sensitive so all it takes is a little rub
to turn this baby on, pretty cool. The sixaxis controller feels lighter than the PS2 controller and the wireless feature is very nice as well. My friend pointed out that the PS3 made alot less noise than his 360 during start up and loading.
It should be mentioned that I have not played an XBOX360 yet so I may be a little more blown away by the visuals than someone who has. Also I have never played Halo or Halo 2. Keep this in mind please.
Resistance Fall Of Man looks amazing plain and simple. The story is pretty much the same as any other FPS, you go around blasting armies of creatures with some minimal help from other soldiers. The gameplay is, in a word, intence. Making your way down a foggy corridor with demonic beasts coming at you has never been so fun or looked this good. The enemy AI is smart and it's not too easy to sneak up on these guys, the bad guys use cover well and won't pop out again untill you stop firing making for some challenging battles. There are some very cool weapons as well ranging from normal guns to crazy radiation shooters that blast through walls. One thing I noticed that I didn't like was the enemy variation could be better. So far I've seen five different enemy types all of which were very cool, however seeing some different ones would be nice. If you enjoy first person shooters you have to play this game.
I'd give this game a 9 out of 10 so far.

wow i wasn't aware of that. I'll have to check it out when i get home. I guess it's a good thing i didn't buy it to play PS2 or PS1 games or I might be a little pissed right now.

I think that the problem is just with HDTV, the ps3 makes the ps2 run in 720pi (i think) and that makes the graphic go to hell. They may be able to correct this in an update, but I cannot say for sure.
A friend of my father is going to the US in the end of January, He may ask his friend to buy a ps3 for me! :rockon: :rockon: :rockon:

but if you don't live in usa then that would be a mistake dude. It would mean you could only buy usa games and blueray dvds meaning you will spend alot on importing.
As for the graphics from wat i've seen you are right. It looks like ps3 makes ps2 games Worse. One of the many reasons i'm not buying a ps3 until i need a blueray player.

Wrong. It was said that PS3 will be region free. And besides, if it wasn't, I believe S. America is part of this region.

Ah that is cool. I didn't think any console (not hand held) would be region free.
I only mentioned it because from his post I assumed he lived in Europe I don't know why. but yeah South America would be same stuff as north I think.
