Both companies have LOTS and LOTS of good titles it's not just about GTA and MARIO. I just saw today MGS4 15min video, and Red Steel for Wii, I want to cry and sale my soul for both of the consoles.
Stop the Civil War... or make banners, "i'm with ps3" "i'm with wii" and stuff

Maybe someone would like to explain the rationale of complaining about how much a game "sux" in an argument about which console "sux" more (which is off-topic anyway). Do you guys realize that many of these games are cross-platform and the system has little to nothing to do with how much a given game "sux"?

I think it's a good idea. Helps eliminate at least a little bit of the jerks buying them up and selling them for $2000 on eBay.
It's not like they are charging extra for it. Just more up front.

Well that sounds like an innovative idea. Alot of friends had a hard time getting ps2 when IT first came out. I think they should have raised the reservation fee to maybe $200.00. Or at the lowest, $160.00

But doesn't make a difference to me. They only have 1 game I really want, but I'm not wasting so much money just for that. And of course, they'll still be some people who would get more and sell it on E-Bay; but yeah, that number would go down.

Me either. I already chose the XBox 360.
VVD - the article says that Sony is considering requiring a (roughly) $200 preorder price for the PS3 in Europe to combat people buying large numbers and selling at a (much) higher price.

Sounds like a somewhat decent idea.
But I personally don't care how many systems people buy. If a guy wants to buy 10 systems and sell 'em on E-Bay...that's his business. If people are dumb enough to pay almost double the price on E-Bay....they don't deserve to have money. That's just dumb. I mean supply and demand an all......but it still is dumb.
In fact--most retail stores actually set limits on to how many systems you can buy. In North Carolina, the state limit when the X-Box came out was 3 systems per customer, per day, per store. I mean that doesn't stop Joe Blo from going down the street to Circuit City and buying more, but it helped regulate store quanities to help more customers have access to new products while in-stock.
I know there's parents out there who wannaget the "hot toy" for their kids for Christmas....but seriously....
Yeah....I'm getting it basically because I'll have the money and I really only want 1 game right now----Assassin's Creed. I know there'll be more games in the future I'll want---but for now Assassin's Creed is enough for me.
So what's the difference in me having the $600 to buy the system and someone else having $800 available to get it off E-Bay???? Simple---I'm not hard press to get it like that. It's just a game system. When it's in and available. I'll get it. Until then I'll bide my time.......

Yeah, I never understood why parents go to great lengths just to get their kid some ridiculous toy that they'll end up breaking. If it was my kid, and he asked for one of those, I'd laugh and then tell him to get a job. Or just wait until the price drops in three years.

Don't get me wrong....if I was a parent and my kid wanted it--as long as I could buy the system and still be financially comfortable--I'd do it. It's all part of the "give my kids everything I never had" thing.....but I'd still make sure they understood the value of the dollar and hard work and all that jazz.
It's just part of good parenting.

And some scalper charging $800 is better? As long as the system is bought initially, I don't see how Sony could get mad.

No, what I'm saying is that when scalpers sell them for $800 (it would be more because the system isn't going to be much less than that) it's bad for business. And yeah, they get their money either way, but there's a lot more to it than just getting their money.
