Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I think it's a testament to the awesomtasticness of Sylar that the second he enters Maya and Alejandros' story, it becomes one of the most interesting storylines instead of one of the most tedious and boring. Also, I can't wait to see Matt and Maury meet - will the Nightmare Man have any sympathy for his son? Will Matt be able to ward off the effects of his Dad's powers by virtue of his own psychicness? I don't know, but I can't wait to find out.

Also, here's an interesting little tidbit: this is the only episode so far that hasn't featured Hiro in some way, form, or fashion. Claire is now officially the only character that has appeared in every episode.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Definitely of Season 2 (and I hope that's what you mean, too). But that's still not saying much. :)

That's definitely what I mean, but I think it stands alongside the better S1 episodes too... Things seem like they're finally picking up and going somewhere interesting... My friends and I talked for almost an hour afterwards about what might happen next week and for the first time i really feel like i'm looking forward to the next episode...

But yeah, definite improvement over the last few episodes, and I look forward to more things picking up.

THAT IS WHAT A CALL A ****ING ENDING!

WOW! :D

Seriously. It rocked. I thought, "Oh no! She's in a coma!" and was totally unprepared for Parkman HEARING HER SCREAMING THOUGHTS. Brilliant.

Unfortunately - I felt the episode was far too slow. West and Noah and Claire is kinda dull now. It annoys me because Claire has no reason to distrust her dad, save for stretching this plot line out.

Sylar strikes me as a rather annoying way to make the Twins more interesting since, for some reason, them reaching NY is out of the question. That said, Sylar is still wicked cool and I'm sure he'll use his Candice powers to look like Chandra Suresh so he can EAT MORE BRAINS!

And yet again, very little progress on the dozen or so plot lines (Peter and Hiro don't even APPEAR) but we are introduced to yet another hero, in that McDawson girl who has a photographic reflex thing going on.

*sigh*

It would be nice to - you know - have something resolve in the first four episodes (other than "where in the world is Carmen Sylar?"). :|

Nathan is... odd. I'm... I'm wondering if that explosion did something to the Petrelli brothers. What if... what if Nathan has Peter/Claire's regeneration powers? That's why he's not horrifically deformed any more.

But why would he have them? The explosion let Nathan copy Peter? Or maybe ALL the specials can have ALL the powers (like Peter) but because Peter can "love unconditionally" it's his 'default' power. Like in EARTH X how each superhero could do whatever they wanted in the final stage of the celestial mutation, maybe these guys can access any powers they want and that is why (in part) Sylar can steal people's brains - and why Nathan is fully healed.

Or maybe he made a deal with a bad man.

I'm still convinced Nathan's behind some of the murders (but unsure how he kept it from Parkman) but I'm curious as to who knows about Peter. Someone does, and I still think it might be Nathan.

Another reason for Nathan's regenerative powers (and Claire's) - Takezo Kensei is Papa Petrelli.

Only way to kill him? The Twins.

It's all very intriguing.

The Best Episode so far...

I love how Matt and Mohinder are, for all intents and purposes, a couple. They have little fights and they're trying to raise their daughter.

It is all very silly.

Homophobe.

It was a hella sweet ending to be honest, a really good cliffhanger moment.

I just hate West. No reason why, I just don't like the arrogant little creep.

Yeah, they are never going to make it. Especially when Sylar discovers whose car he is driving. He's headed to California. For a snack of hot cheerleader brains. Or, more hopefully he could chew up Wests' skull. Then replace him using Candaces' power, and be the one kissing Claire in the painting....

The problem with that theory is in the graphic novels. I think we can be reasonably sure that Papa Petrelli had no powers, but worked with the powered within the company...sort of the like the precurser to Noah. Mama Petrelli is where (I suspect) the powers come from in the Petrelli clan.

Is she where Peter first got his prophetic dreams perhaps?

I have a theory he got the dreaming power from the dying guy he was taking care of at the start of the series, because of their interaction towards the end of the season

Linderman specifically said Papa Petrelli had "a gift, like you" or something like that. He could've been lying but I doubt they'd do that.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I don't really even remember the mention of Papa Petrelli. o_O There's so much to this show that they expect you to know.

I can't wait until the romantic tension breaks and they finally kiss.

Or like Cassandra Nova and the X-Gene in New X-Men.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Did anyone else notice the little twist we have for the twins and Sylar? The car that criminal Derek stole. He said it was from California. Who had an identical car stolen from her in California?

Sylar is in Claire's car. Whats the betting he finds something that leads him right to her...?

Um.. yeah. I... I totally noticed that too. I... I called it like... weeks ago. n' stuff.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Here's a link to an EW review of Season 2 so far; this is from the same critic who gave Heroes an A- earlier this year. (Wah wah.)

Seeing as they barely touched upon the handful of storylines that still kick ***, or the still-***-kicking aspects of the ones that are wavering, I'm citing unknown bias on this one. Otherwise, I don't get how someone who really liked the first season could dislike this one so much, especially after things really started taking off this week.

Also, the phrase "________ does not a _____ make" no longer sounds clever or distinguished and I want to scream when I hear critics still use it.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

NEW THEORY!

Noah Bennet dies as Claire hugs SYLAR! Sylar's illusionating powers make Claire think SOMEONE else is dead, but in real-fact, it is none other than her dad, Noah Bennet!

OMG!

Just because I posted a link to it doesn't mean I agree with her or like her all that much; she's the same critic who gave LOST a C- in the middle of Season 3.

(However, I do enjoy reading her reviews, even if I disagree with them; I'm EW's *****, remember?)
