Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Just because I posted a link to it doesn't mean I agree with her or like her all that much; she's the same critic who gave LOST a C- in the middle of Season 3.

(However, I do enjoy reading her reviews, even if I disagree with them; I'm EW's *****, remember?)

Didn't say you did.

Also, Owen Gleiberman FTW(mainly for his rave review of Wet Hot, on the DVD case)!

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I hate to say it, but I have to kind of agree with the assessment given about the season so far. Not to the point I'd give it a C - this season still gets a solid B+ from me - but if things don't start coming together soon, it's going to get real tedious. And I have to agree about the whole "Claire marvels at the same powers of regeneration she's always had" bit, mostly because it does seem as if that particular storyline is going nowhere (West takes Claire flying, they kiss, something awkward happens concerning her dad; West takes Clair flying, they kiss, something awkward happens concerning her dad). I need to know that the heroes all have a big conflict looming that will draw them all together again, because quite frankly, two or three or six heroes is way more interesting than one. This "Nightmare Man" plot holds promise, though, and the most recent episode was absolutely awesome, but things need to hurry up along.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I'm hoping they put Claire/West on hold and we follow Noah and the Haitian on their adventure to discover the other 6 paintings for awhile. And we need a lot more emphasis on the mystery of the Group of Twelve and the Nightmare Man.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I mean, yeah, it's obscure that Peter ends up in Ireland, Sylar in Mexico, and Hiro remains in feudal Japan but I have complete faith that these things will make sense soon. Didn't they say they were trying to do segments this season? Where one thing is tackled in an arc and then another one begins and ends by the end of the season? I would imagine we've seen these two things already begin - the 12 and the sickness will most likely play huge parts in the overaching series.

Yeah, season 2 is supposed to make up two volumes, meaning we should be getting a "volume finale" around episode 12. I assume they're going to wrap up the Twelve storyline (Maybe the Nightmare Man and Eight Paintings storylines with it), but I see the Virus storyline being around for awhile.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Which is frustrating... I don't think the virus storyline is all that compelling. I mean, we just found out that there were people in the world with powers... That isn't enough?

The thing I don't like about the virus storyline is. . .there's already a cure. If they were actually searching for the cure, or hell, realize the Company or some other, much worse organization was behind it all, then it'd be interesting. Now? Not so much.

Well its only the beginning, I think it'll grow more and more. There's lots of potential and its not suppose to be the most intriging part right now. There's lots of great direction they could take it, Remember Mohinder only has so much blood and if he dies, there goes the cure. So if anyone wanted the virus to succeed his life would be in danger.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I'm thinking the cure is how we get into the story of where the Heroes come from.

I don't think it'll be a 24-type "we need a cure!" story arc, but rather the origins of the cure will lead into a larger story concerning everyone.

For example, Kensei could be the originator of the cure designed to wipe out the competition or heroes in general because he thinks their demons after what Hiro did to him (and just what did Hiro do?!) - or maybe its a method of controlling heroes; if you do as we say you get a cure and you're safe for a day, but if you rebel, no cure, and you die.

Maybe it has something to do with Maya since her power is a disease thing.

And maybe the disease doesn't just kill. Maybe it turns them into something or does something weird in its last stages.

We'll see...

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

So tonight... Kristen Bell? I haven't ever seen her in anything although I know she's got a bit of a cult following. Should be a good time, no?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Kristen Bell. Mmmmm. I'll be there in front of my TV. Naked. Fap-ready.

I'd hope so. :D

Bass, you need to see Veronica Mars. It's brilliant. Smartly written detective series.

Her character can be summed up in the following statement:

Veronica Mars is Batman. With boobs. No web belt.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Oooh! Saucy. :D

It's reallly awesome.

I fell in love with Kristen instantly. And now I want her in everything. So I'm even more excited that she's on "Heroes".

*You see how I quickly brought that full circle and now back on the subject of "Heroes"? Yeah....Doom's clever like that. Clever like a duck.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

The first episode was on TV last night. For some reason, I decided to watch it.

One. How did Takezo Kensai get to where Hiro teleported the mercenary guy so quickly? How did he know where he'd be?

Two. Cheerleaders again?!

Three. The Parkman/Mohinder/Molly thing is just weird.

Four. I've forgotten what else I was going to say. Something about the virus.

I think Hiro just happened to teleport to their meeting place
Three. The Parkman/Mohinder/Molly thing is just weird.

I dont find it as weird as anyone else, Parkman and Mohinder are the closest people to Molly
