Captain America Movie

Well that was before. Finishing post-production stuff for Iron Man in late 2006/early 2007 for a 2008 summer release and then having time off to film Sherlock Holmes before heading back to production/filming for Iron Man2 in the summer of 2009 is one thing. But now having to do all the production for that with Iron Man 3......along with all the same production for an Avengers film during the downtime.

Now with the way Marvel releases their films and assuming they don't want to overmilk a single franchise with more than 3 movies per character in short amount of time, you're looking at production schedule similar to that with Capatin America. Once Evans is done with a Cap film...he's gonna have maybe 3 months off before it's time to start dealing with an Avenger film....then as soon as that's done, you know Marvel is gonna want another solo Cap film......and then another Avengers films.....and finally another Cap film followed by another Avengers film.

I'm sure production scheduling won't be as bad as that and they'll want their stars to be able to do other stuff for their career...but at the end of the day, it's a business and a multi-film contract has been signed. So........

I don't think they'll be making many Captain America sequels. It seems after avengers he'll have free time to do something else before any sequels

Downey also shot the Soloist movie too after Iron Man.

Well you'd have to blame that on the manip creators. There were obviously better choices of pics out there to grab from but they made due with what they had.

I like Evans I do. I think he's a pretty good actor. However he is in danger of becoming "Will Smith Is Will Smith" (I need to add this theory to TV Tropes).

Dude, I feel the same way about Will Smith with the exception of The Pursuit of Happyness. Everything else he does is What if Will Smith was....
....an airforce pilot killing aliens
....Muhammed Ali
....buying a gift for his wife, ran into Jason Lee, watch him be killed and had to run from a secret government agency
....the fresh prince (which he was i guess?)
....a street urchin with powers

Except, Ali was also a serious role. Not to mention it was an awesome movie. The hell are you talking about? He's proven he can do comedy and Drama. The man can act.

I never said these movies were bad. I love Will Smith movies. Ali was serious, but still felt like a "will smith as..." movie.

CBR:

Director Joe Johnston tells Earth's Mightiest Ed Gross, "Casting Captain America is really casting two roles...Steve Rogers before and after the transformation from 98 pound weakling to perfect physical specimen. I can't divulge how we're going to do it, but the performance will be Chris Evans from beginning to end. An actor playing Captain America has to embody that backstory and let it inform his understanding of his new self. One of the interesting aspects of the character is the effect that kind of total transformation would have on the his psyche. It gives the character more dimension and the actor playing him a wider range of interesting choices."

Actress Hayley Atwell has been cast to play Peggy Carter.

Not only have I never heard of her, I've never heard of anything she's been in. I just looked her up in imdb and I didn't recognize the names of anything she's been in except for the prisoner, which was fairly recent.

CBR:

Meanwhile, Pajiba reports Joss Whedon may be taking a pass at the script in addition to his duties on "The Avengers." While the film begins shooting soon, Whedon can definitely spruce up dialogue and perhaps reshape a few set-peices, but don't expect it to be a huge rewrite if it happens.

yeah, i really hope Fury's not alive during WWII. Neither Infinity Formula nor Original Super Soldier works well in the comics, they especially wouldn't work in the movies.

Wasn't it mentioned that Fury was going to appear in Captain America?

But as the movie is supposed to take place entirely during WW2 that means it's either an end sequence or a post-credits thing... or he's in WW2 as the leader of the Howling Commandos. :(
