Yeah, #625 was probably the single best issue of ASM I've ever read.

Such a powerful story, and what a set of pencils!

When Aleksei took down the new Rhino there was a sense of power in the pages I don't think I've ever come across, entirely Visceral that coupled with the emotional journey the character went through made for a truly incredible comic

yeah, it was certainly up there.

and #626 was pretty good too.

another Kelly/Van Lente one-two knockout!

Fun Fact: Van Lente wrote the original story for the new Scorpion. On the issue itself, I liked it overall. More specifically I liked Scorpion's new costume but not her tail part.

that makes sense. I didn't quite believe that the Spidey editors had been paying that much attention to obscure stories from a few years ago.

This book is so good right now!
At least when Joe Kelly and Fred Van Lente are writing it. Dan Slott is sort of hit an miss, and i haven't really liked any of Mark Waid's issues.

But next up is Roger Stern on "Something Can Stop the Juggernaut!"
w00t!

I read the Rhino issue, and while the emotion it represented was good, I really hate the ending.

I hate cliche stories of a villain turning good, girlfriend/lover gets killed, and they turn evil again. This story would have been kickass if the ending happened with Rhino defeating the robotic Rhino dude, then saying it's done and walking away, instead of this ambiguous type of OMG they both died! ending we got.

yeah, that really would have been a better ending.

But from Marvel's perspective, then you have no Rhino for future stories.

But I totally agree, I would have liked it to end just like you said.

I did think that for the way it ended, the did a REALLY good job. By which I mean, I didn't walk away with "That ending was so cliche!" as my most prominent thought. I walked away thinking "That was an AMAZING issue!"
Did that make any sense?

Captain Universe?

The first time I played through Spider-Man for PS1 I used a cheat and played as Captain Universe. Unlimited Webbing, Double Damage, Invulnerability.

I figured it out as soon as the first guy said something blue and white.

But yeah, Captain Universe, and it looks like it's the Silver Surfer he's inhabiting. Which is odd, because Captain Universe doesn't take over someone's psychic, it works with them long enough to do what you are suppose too. Though is does steer you towards doing that.

I've never read the Captain Universe stuff, so i don't know much about him or it. I just know Spidey was given the powers of Captain Universe for a while for some huge task.

anyway. Why do you think it's Silver Surfer?

Cause of this image.

Captain Universe's suit is that blue part. He doesn't change the outfit persay, just kinda overlaps it with the Uni-force power. The drive behind Captain Universe is the Uni-power. Gemini can probably explain it better than I could.
