Valiant Relaunch

More Than Meets The Eye and Robots In Disguise beg to differ. THOSE are the ones I recommended. You chose to read all of them.

When he was a slave he was barely there. I want an entire issue of no action. I love those kind of issues.

I chose to read all of them so I'd have a better understanding of the in game story and characters. I'm almost to the MtMtE and RiD issues. Hopefully will get to those sometime next week (depending on how busy I am after work... damn social life!). ;)

He was the main focus of every issue, so not sure how he was "barely there". #25 is sort of a "no action" issue. It's made up of one main story that focuses on and gives background for the Armor Hunters and serves as a prelude to the AH crossover, but there are several other short stories which focus on Aric without much or any fighting. One is a joke story that isn't canon, but the rest fit. There's even one where he sits at a bar with Shadowman and has a conversation.

I'm going to try to be caught up on X-O Manowar and Archer & Armstrong by Wednesday.

I meant he was barely in the ship as a slave before he escaped and found the armor. I just want a quiet issue for once.

Now THIS I cannot wait for! That is my kind of comic!

That's only a page or two long short story in XO #25, but you may like it.

Really digging him being the government's lapdog. Also really like the promise of more space stuff with the Hunters.

I'm sure his tenure of working for the government will only last so long. The Armor Hunters crossover could end up with his people wiped out by the Hunters, giving him no reason to continue working for MERO. That's only a guess, doubt they'll do that.

I hope not. Finally feels like this book has direction. I'm sure he'll end up alone eventually but until then the government needs to keep cracking that whip.

Completely caught up on X-O Manowar. Glad I kept reading in the end.

Glad you stayed with it. I'm looking forward to getting to the Transformers MTMtE and RiD ongoings. Overall the issues have gotten a lot better than the earlier stuff. Just goes to show first impressions don't always dictate the end impression.

That was his response to Eva Braun trying to get him to eat his brussel sprouts.

I'm starting the second arc of Archer and Armstrong and I really do not like this. I know most of the other ones took three to five arcs to start getting interesting so I'm going to get caught up but so far this is really bad.

I just finished the Armor Hunters stuff (minus Unity of course). I'm really nervous that this is going to get rid of the new status quo. I'm also really confused why Bloodshot and Harbinger are being brought into this (I suppose I should wonder why Unity is too but I have no idea who Unity is (don't tell me)).

Ha!

It's not bad, it's excellent. And it gets better as it goes, as it starts tying stuff together (hints dropped in earlier issues) from previous issues. By the American Wasteland arc (the current arc running through A&A #20-23) it's brilliant.

You really should read Unity first before the Armor Hunters stuff. Harbinger, Bloodshot, and Unity all tie into the AH mini, and some of it may not make sense (and spoil you in terms of plot development) without reading those first. Unity has been quite good overall. The second arc was brilliant. Very original villain with a very original plan.

As for disrupting the status quo, I'm sure AH will alter some things. After all, the status quo is meant to be changed. If it remains the same it gets boring.

I will say that Unity is Valiant's version of a super team (Justice League or Avengers), who are put together to take on big threats (like AH). It consists of Aric, Livewire (from Harbinger), Ninjak, and Eternal Warrior.

The tie in issues (Armor Hunters - Bloodshot and Armor Hunters - Harbinger) obviously focus on those characters and what they're doing during AH. AH-H doesn't focus on the regular Harbinger characters (Harada and the Renegades), but instead the Generarion Zero kids (who were introduced in the Harbinger Wars mini and showed up in the most recent arc of Harbinger).

It's best to read all that stuff before diving into AH. It's not necessary, but it'll help prevent spoilers and give you a better understanding of what's going on in AH.

I like how what's her face is like "you heal fast but I cut faster" to Bloodshot when the dude's been down to skeleton and back. Also Vagabond really creeps me out. I'm also really upset that I have to keep reading Archer and Armstrong to finish HARD Corps. I went to finish HARD Corps to take a break from Archer and Armstrong.

Too late. I think Unity is last in my stack.

Only it just changed and hasn't had any time to settle in and grow.

Don't forget that in terms of XO's status quo, it's been that way for about a year, since the Planet Death arc and him returning to Earth. May not seem like that long to you since you read it all in one go, but for those reading it month to month the status quo has definitely settled in.

My problem with Archer and Armstrong is the humor. I don't find it funny, the definition boxes are annoying, the randomness is weird rather than charming, serious moments are ruined by pointless slapstick, and it (the humor) seems to have a really weird Liberal (politically speaking) spin. Yucky.

Feels like it's only been about four issues due to how little focus there has been on it.

The humor is the best part. I'm a liberal so maybe that's why I enjoy it, but it's spot on for me. The definition boxes are a perfect way of quickly explaining Archer's abilities to mimic anything, and cut off after a sentence or two so it presents the idea without dwelling on it. Most issues only have 1 or 2 anyway. And the humor in A&A is far more charming and intelligent than that of Ultimates 3 (I'm never gonna stop making comparisons to that).

But it's been at least ten issues.

Okay, I've now read everything except for Harbinger (which I am still debating if I want to read or not) and Unity (didn't have time to today). I don't know if I'll keep reading them all or just Eternal Warrior, Bloodshot, Rai, Shadowman, and X-O Manowar.

I've enjoyed all but the most recent issue as far as American Wasteland (or whatever it's called). 2/22 is bad.

Then they haven't nearly explored it enough.

You really should finish Harbinger. You may not like it, but there are elements you'll probably love. Like Faith. She's awesome!

Wait... what? You've "enjoyed all but the most recent issue" but "2/22 is bad"? That doesn't even make sense. Or are you saying you haven't liked any of A&A except for the first two issues of the most recent arc (which yes, is titled American Wasteland).

Then they haven't nearly explored it enough.

In your opinion. I think they've given it all the attention it needs.
