Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

"Hey, remember when we sent him to that tolerance seminar?"

Classic.

Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

"Dammit Thor! You know real English!"

THANK YOU! GODDAMMIT! THE DUDE'S BEEN LIVING HERE FOR FIFTY YEARS! He can learn our language or get the hell out of the United States of America and go back to wherever he came from!

Also, as for continuity.... It takes place before Ultimate Adventures, after Ultimate Silver Sable, and right between issues 2 and 3 of the first Ultimate Daredevil book.

Edit: also...

Poor whoring Zombipanda. I can only assume that when clientele heard they could whore with a living human, undead bears just didn't hold their allure...

Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

This was better than Bendis's issues, but that's not saying much.

I, too, didn't care for how Thor is talking now. Makes no sense that he wouldn't use modern English like he has been.

Spider-Man was just...off. The whole scene was just so forced and seemed like they were just taking up space.

It's ridiculous that this is going 9 issues. An entire issue for Thor to transport the team?

This has been a colossal disappointment so far.

2/5
I thought Spider-Man was fine. A little too much 616 then Ultimate, but then again, we've only had Bendis handle Ultimate Peter/Spider-Man, so it's weird seeing him finally being written by someone else.

But other than that, I agree with you.

Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

I thought it was an improvement off the last three issues, but where was the threat from the travel?

So really its not that its not an Ultimate peter its just not Bendis peter.

I loved it that he owned fury though.

Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

So, in the new new Joe Fridays someone asks why Thor speaks the way he does in UP4.

Quesada says: "While I can't speak too much about this currently, Ultimate Power takes place after Ultimates 2 #13 and the Medieval speak is something Mr. Loeb is adding and explaining in his run, so stay tuned."

So, there's that. Definitive proof no one knows what's going on with UP.

I am ANGRY with RAGE!

Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

Why are they even premiering this now? They might as well wait until at least Ultimates 2 13 is done and Ultimates 3 start

Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

Great. Now we have more proof Ultimates 3 is becoming 616.

Why isn't Fury missing an arm?

I don't think... I don't see how anyone is spending any real time on this. I fail to believe that three of the most popular comic writers, together, can write a title this fundamentally dull. I just don't see how it's possible unless they're just not trying.

Re: Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

****ING GODDAMNIT

IF THOR WAS AN ANCIENT GOD, HAVE HIM SPEAK AN ANCIENT NORWEIGAN LANGUAGE SPOKEN IN NORSE TIMES!!! NOTHING ABOUT HIM SPEAKING LIKE THAT MAKES ANY SENSE ON ANY LEVEL!

In 616 I can tolerate his Medieval voice, because its how its been for ages, and I'm all for tradition... but UU Thor is actually a strong, interesting character!!

I am SO pissed off about this.

Verily, me thinketh this bodeth not well for the future of yon title.

Unfortunately.
