Supergirl TV Series [SPOILERS]

Which has nothing to do with what we're talking about, but ok. By this logic the fact that no Flash or Arrow villains appear on Gotham MUST mean they occur in the same universe. <---- See how little sense that makes?

Except they said it was intentional

What the hell are you talking about? Did I claim to know more than the creators? This is going to be like that time you accused me of hating the military, isn't it?

nah its more of the time you called me sexist as i shall respond "i was not talking about you i meant facebook people" that makes everything okay :) also then add "don't take it so personally geez" thus removing your grievous, right?

That said, the creators don't get final call on the cross network crossover approach, the execs do. And, again, as said, Supergirl has a large enough rogues gallery that they don't need to use random Flash or Arrow villains, NOR could they due to rights issues. CW pays for the rights to use those characters, meaning CBS likely can't, except in such special circumstances like this crossover (where only Flash will be used, presumably, certainly none of his villains).

no but if they had had a plan it could be used

Yup, you're doing exactly what you did last time, making insane presumptions to paint me as some bad guy because I disagree with you and the evidence supports my theory over yours. I get it. I have based my theories on exactly what the creators and network execs have said, as well as the plot lines on the show that allows a perfect opportunity for said alternate reality crossover.

Has nothing to do with ego and everything to do with using the evidence at hand to make a likely conclusion. Grow up, Mole. I'm getting tired of the thinly veiled personal attacks. If you can't debate without resorting to that lame crap don't respond to my posts at all.

and reached the part where you have a hissy fit and pretend you've done no wrong as your innocent everyone else is bad ...... must be a day ending in Y , also note you replied to me first in your typical way. if i didn't know better i'd swear you were a 12 year old troll. most of what i posted was obvious sarcasm as you say "debate" why? i wasn't debating i said "i dont care about a reason i just want more than 1" and you say "no your wrong!" that cant be wrong as i dont care about the how, your inventing debates to get attention. Cool you got it, you can go sit down now. Okay? okay.

---------

That a side like i said I want more crossovers! Green Arrow vs Supergirl could be this universe's batman vs superman ad would be fun or a team up!

Jesus Christ... Show me where I called you sexist. I can show you exactly the posts the dude in the FB group made, which is what I referred to. Speaking of ego, learn its not all about you.

no but if they had had a plan it could be used

and reached the part where you have a hissy fit and pretend you've done no wrong as your innocent everyone else is bad

The difference is I'm using logic and facts, you're resorting to name-calling. Says a lot about your position and person, none of it good. If you want to get personal, if that makes you feel better about yourself, go ahead. Keep in mind you're also violating the rules of the forum with that crap.

...... must be a day ending in Y , also note you replied to me first in your typical way.

Right, because this is a discussion board. So I replied and pointed out the fact its unlikely why Supergirl and the CW shows occur in the same universe, and used logic and facts to back it up, and you apparently didn't like that and are resorting to personal attacks. If you can't win a debate without resorting to childish crap like that, you've already lost.

if i didn't know better i'd swear you were a 12 year old troll.

Says the guy who can't debate without resorting to childish name-calling and completely illogical conclusions.

 most of what i posted was obvious sarcasm

Sure it was.

as you say "debate" why? i wasn't debating i said "i dont care about a reason i just want more than 1" and you say "no your wrong!" that cant be wrong as i dont care about the how, your inventing debates to get attention. Cool you got it, you can go sit down now. Okay? okay.

Dude, your logic is astoundingly insane. I pointed out the obvious avenue they'd use, you relied on forcing them into the same universe. I didn't say you're wrong, I said you're likely wrong. No one knows yet, but ALL evidence points to them using the alternate reality angle. I'm sorry you're butthurt over that. I'm not inventing debates, man. I just enjoy pointing out how wrong you often are. :)

Supergirl First Look at Young Superman

They should hire Tom Welling as the REAL Hank Henshaw and have him turn into Cyborg Superman. Or just Welling as Cyborg Superman. Doesn't have to be Henshaw since he's already Martian Manhunter...and black

So I'm rewatching Supergirl from first episode to add it into the DC-CW timeline I've done, but the timeline is a bit confusing.

At first, Kara says "24 years ago my planet Krypton was in serious peril...", indicating Krypton blew up 24 years before 2015, thus in 1991.

However, that isn't the case, as we learn later. From Kara's perspective it was 24 years, but due to spending 24 years in the Phantom Zone, where time doesn't really pass, she emerged still as a 13 year old girl.

So, the timeline must work out as such:

1979 - Krypton is destroyed, as Kara and Kal-El head to Earth. Kara is caught in the Phantom Zone and spends the next 24 years stuck there.

2003 - Kara's ship manages to escape the Phantom Zone and drags Fort Razz (the Kryptonian prison ship) with it. Kara's ship crashes on Earth where she is found by Superman, who is presumably just beginning his career as Superman. In episode 2 Kara mentions she's been hiding who she was for 12 years, meaning she must have arrived on Earth in 2003, since the show is set in present day 2015-2016 (first season anyway).

2015 - events of Pilot episode occur

So, even though the beginning of the Pilot mentions that Kryton was destroyed 24 years ago, its only 24 years from Kara's perspective since she was stuck in Phantom Zone during that time, though in reality its been 36 years apparently. Even that doesn't make sense really since accounting for the 24 years in the Phantom Zone AND the 12 years she's been on Earth is 36 years... I really don't get the timeline of it.

If we take Kara at her word that Krypton was destroyed 24 years ago, that'd place it in 1991 (from the 2015 premiere of the Pilot and its presumed modern day setting). But, Kara mentions she spent 24 years in the Phantom Zone, and with the 12 years she spent on Earth up until that point, it must mean Krypton was destroyed 36 years ago, not 24. Maybe Kara is bad at math? Presumably that makes Kal-El about 36 years old, and Kara is physically 25 years old (she was 13 when she left Krypton, spent 24 years in the Phantom Zone but didn't age, and then crashed on Earth), but actually is 49 years old accounting for the 24 years in the Phantom Zone.

This is some mind-bending stuff. ;)

Right I'm the only one doing that....

I'm sorry you're butthurt over that.

Yup only me ..... As apparently now "Butthurt" (which you throw around way to much btw) = I'm ok with one but would prefer the other. What's that you had a sandwich ? Awwwww I bet your butthurt it wasn't steak right? :D

I didn't say you're wrong,

I just enjoy pointing out how wrong you often are.

Well which is it? contradictory much? in fact Don't answer that as I'm done with you on this lets not derail another ****ing thread , sure you'll respond and claim your so innocent and everything you say = perfect. As for not grasping sarcasm I used "LOL" and buzz lightyear as an example. What do I need to type *SARCASM* around it or you don't get it? My god.

Right I'm the only one doing that....

I notice you constantly accuse me of stuff I haven't done to make yourself appear the victim. Please, point out to me where I resorted to name-calling? You accused me of calling you sexist when I never did. Stop playing the victim, man.

Dude, that's like the second time I've used "butthurt" in 3 months, lol. Yeah, way too much. You're just pulling stuff out of your behind, now. Maybe that's why it hurts? ;)

We don't know you're wrong about the same universe angle until it airs. You were definitely wrong concerning the Occam's Razor discussion and the least amount of assumptions to draw logical conclusion. That's what I referred to, and thought that should've been obvious since you literally claimed your exact use of the antithesis of OR was in fact OR.

Can't say you're wrong until the end of March when it airs. Then I'll point and laugh. ;)

Also, name-calling and being nasty and then claiming it's only "sarcasm" is lamely passive aggressive.

"I'll type something rude and then put a winking smiley and it's ok!" -Mole

I'm really enjoying Supergirl. I'm 8 episodes in and I'm loving the fun tone they're using, sort of like Flash. Benoist's semi-goofy Kara is great. Love her giggle/snort thing she does around Jimmy, it's hilarious.

I also liked the Red Tornado episode. Nothing special but I enjoyed that they fully embraced the look and approach from the comics, as well as also logically bringing in TO Morrow.

And the reveal of Henshaw as Martian Manhunter was very well handled. Rewatching and knowing it was coming, all the hints they'd dropped worked incredibly well.

I honestly don't know if I like this or Flash better. Can't wait till the crossover episode, the potential of Benoist and Gustin playing off each other has me excited, should be a lot of fun.

Welcome to my world LOL. In uk it has stopped at 8 not back till march. I still don't like James but shes great with him. I think he's too suave and he's called James not Jimmy :( He seems more Stephen Amell where I want Steve Urkel or He's Samuel l Jackson amd I want Samuel Powers (screech) It's not a race thing as some complained about race as honestly I'm not sure if I said it here BUT race for Jimmy doesn't matter Donald Glover from Community would be perfect! James however I don't recognise as Jimmy. He's too much the opposite of everything Jimmy is.

That though and the colour of her heat vision are my only complaints. The rest I love. For me it's Arrow > Supergirl > flash in terms of favourites BUT i love all 3

Yeah I get where you're coming from regarding James. The "James" instead of "Jimmy" is pretentious as hell, and as you said, Jimmy was never meant to be the suave cool guy.

Yeah he's meant to be for lack of a better one of us! a socially awkward nerd lol

The Legion ring showed up in the new episode. Looks like the same shot from The Flash. Guess these shows are going to be more linked than we thought. As a side note, this show has really turned itself around. I think it and Gotham are the best of the DC shows.

I told people it would, it just needed some time like Flash and Arrow did.

I think it and Gotham are the best of the DC shows.
Gotham is the 'worst' of any comic book show for me. Just DC: It's Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, although Supergirl is rising up quickly to Flash-level greatness.

Currently or all time? As I agree it's bad but it beats Smallville + Birds of Prey + Ultimate Spider-man for me lol

If you still had doubts, Supergirl in an alternate reality is confirmed in the synopsis for the crossover with Flash.

"Worlds Finest" – Kara gains a new ally when the lightning-fast superhero The Flash (Grant Gustin) suddenly appears from an alternate universe and helps Kara battle Siobhan, aka Silver Banshee, and Livewire in exchange for her help in finding a way to return him home, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, March 28 (8:00-9:00 PM) on the CBS Television Network. Grant Gustin crosses over as The Flash.

They're also going to race (hence the Superman #199 cover homage)!!!

During the crossover, Barry and Kara will also put their powers to the test. "We do have a footrace, which is one of my favorite moments in this episode," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW. "It's close."

Superman and Supergirl don't exist in the Flarrowverse

"We needed to create a way to do it," he said. "We had to introduce Superman since you've heard about him and you've heard about Supergirl, but in worlds of 'Arrow' and 'Flash,' they didn't exist in that world. We introduced the multiverse in 'The Flash' this year and that was always our way in."

Who the heck did Rip mean by "men of steel"?

Who the heck did Rip mean by "men of steel"?

Presumably Superman (and Batman with the "dark knight" reference), but we'll just never see Supes or Bats on the CW shows... ever (due to the extremely weird WB/DC character embargo). The idea is that Bruce Wayne likely exists but just isn't Batman yet), and Clark Kent exists but isn't Superman yet in the DC-CW universe. At some point before 2166 AD both Superman and Batman will have begun their superhero careers and presumably been killed by Vandal Savage. Of course, that future timeline will undoubtedly be altered by the events of LoT's resolution of the "time travel to kill Savage" plot, so...

Wayne Enterprises also exists by 2024 in the alternate future portrayed in the newspaper from the future at end of pilot episode of Flash.

So, they'll hint at them, and the idea is they'll begin their superhero careers at some point, but due to the embargo DC does with the JL members for live action TV (though they break that rule in part with Gotham and Supergirl), we'll never see them in that universe. Even Supergirl (an alternate universe) is limited to only showing Supes extremely backlit to not reveal face, or through Kara's dazed and blurred vision, or just chatting through text messages/PMs over computer, or even a young version of Kal-El in flashbacks/hallucinations in one episode, much like Gotham regularly features a young Brucr Wayne.

Maybe someday they'll do a spin off sequel comic that introduces Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, etc to the Arrowverse, like they did for Smallville with the Season 11 comic, but likely only once the TV series come to an end so as not to step on any continuity toes.
