Supergirl TV Series [SPOILERS]

Re: Supergirl TV Series

You are not the first to say that.

But the pilot was shot first, so really, the SNL spoof looks like this! Not that it helps...

Livewire episode was alright. The show might be finding it's footing, but there is still massive room for improvement because I couldn't even finish the drone episode.

Supergirl rumored to crossover with The Flash...

That's a big maybe, though. Depends entirely on if CBS orders the back 9 episodes, and they may not, as rating for Supergirl, while strong, have been steadily dropping. Even Agents of SHIELD's ratings didn't drop to Supergirl's current levels until after almost an entire season. Supergirl is only a handful of episodes in.

I want this show to be good, but it's just missing on every level.

For one, Melissa Benoist isn't interesting, compelling, or riveting in any sense. Part of that may be how Kara is being written, but the character is so one dimensional right now. I get that it's only a handful of episodes in, but how do they expect to retain an audience when their lead is that uninteresting?

Second, they continually keep driving home that this is Supergirl/Kara's story and not Superman's/Clark's, yet his presence is felt probably TOO much in the show. The Pilot appearance made sense, but they're overdoing it, with his occasional emails or Jimmy constantly being there. If it's not Superman's story, stop presenting this show as relying so heavily on him.

I don't know, this show just isn't doing it for me, currently. Hoping it gets better.

If they do crossover, then would Flash have to acknowledge Superman at some point?

I have a feeling IF they do crossover, it'll be using the alternate reality plot device that's been such a big part of this season on Flash. That allows Flash and his cohorts to meet Supergirl without forcing the issue of Superman existing in the Arrow/Flash/Legends of Tomorrow reality, at least not yet (since Superman and Batman were both referenced in the LoT trailer and we know Wayne Enterprises exists, or at least will by the early 2020's if not yet, based on the future newspaper in Flash... though timeline alterations/shenanigans can always be used as an excuse to change things later). Both those references in the Arrow-verse are future related, indicating Superman and Batman haven't publicly started their superhero careers at this point in the Arrowverse, but they will at some point in the near future to account for their legendary status by the time of Vandal Savage's and Rip Hunter's future.

Anyway, if the Flash/Supergirl crossover happens (and that's a VERY BIG "IF" due to the ratings drop and large investment/cost CBS would have to upfront for the remaining 9 episodes of Supergirl, which I find them unlikely to do merely for the sake of the potential crossover's sake and whatever ratings spike that 1 episode might give), I'm 90% sure they'll utilize the alternate reality plot device.

This is all true, but she is still absolutely adorable.

Flash, Supergirl EP Dismisses Crossover Rumors

Given ever-present speculation that his new series, "Supergirl," might receive a visit from Barry Allen (or see some type of interaction with the Arrowverse) in its freshman season, a reporter asked if even initial discussions have occurred regarding a crossover. Berlanti told the gathered press, including CBR News, "No, only because we just received the pick up. Not at this point."

"Not at this point" so very possible in the future. He did say previously that it's something they've thought and talked about, but it wouldn't be something they would do in the first season. Who knows, though. These guys aren't James Gunn; it could be a lie.

That was a great reveal. Loving how Martian Manhunter looks, that's a great design. Also a great twist, as everyone was sure he was just Hank Henshaw and would become Cyborg Superman, right down to the red eyes. Nice misdirection, with that.

So where is Hank Henshaw?
