I for one loved it. I ran out into the street shouting after I watched it. That's how exciting it was for me.
A million thoughts ran through my head immediately after the final credit. How is Clark going to get out of the Phantom Zone? How is he going to save everybody? How will Zex be stopped?
This is Clark's defining moment. For five years, he has been growing and preparing and now it's come. This is the dance. This is Clark's first major villain showdown, his first real Saving-The-ENTIRE-World moment.
Two things have to happen in order for him to successfully save everyone. The major one, which goes without saying, is that he has to fly. How else is he going to get back down to Earth? How else is he going to stop the plane that has Lois and Martha inside? How else is he going to get all over the world to stop the chaos?
The second is that he has to wear a costume. The entire world will see him when he's flying and stopping everybody. He's going to have to wear a costume of some sort. Not necessarily the Superman costume, but a costume of some sort. I'm thinking a red-and-blue Kryptonian warsuit or bodysuit provided by Jor-El. But yeah, he needs a costume, and if he doesn't, then poo-poo on you, Millar & Gough.
