That's too bad Doc. Knowing you, you'd have loved this one. It was the ultimate Lex episode. Having said that(spoilers)...

This episode was about a 4 or a 4.5 until about the last third when it turned to crap.

Lex starts the path to evil once and for all after he dreams his wife will die in childbirth, in other words he joins the dark side to save her.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Anyway, the plot made no sense at all.

Let's pretend for a second the Lionel somehow still owned LuthorCorp and controlled all it's stocks and assets(which he so totally does NOT).

Lex would still have a humungous pile of dough. Why? He has his own company. It's called LexCorp, and he owns it. Even if he decided to sell the company before he started his family, he'd still be a multi-millionare.

Lionel owns nothing. Technically, Lionel is a hobo who Lex is letting stay with him.

End of story. The plot made no sense at all and that's that. That better not be Lex's whole motivation for going to the dark side. They could've done the whole thing so much better. But they got lazy. They don't seem to care.

The Santa thing was good, and it had a very Lois and Clark feel to it, but it got real corny at the end with Chloe's conversation with Clark and all.

Anyway, the acting was for the most part excellent, LANA of all people actually said LuthOR(even though everyone else didn't), Clark as Santa was cool, and best of all we we treated to a Lois-free future where Clark is with CHLOE! Was this Lex's dream, or mine?

The Luthor Family scenes were very well done, and really made you hate Lex at the end for turning it down(especially for such a mind-bogglingly stupid reason).

And no freaks.

2.5 out of 5

It pains me to say that, because it could've been a 4 or higher if not for all the nonsense with Lionel's money. Bah Humbug. Parker OUT!

What could be better than a new episode of a show right there in the middle of its winter hiatus? Makes the wait for new episodes in January much easier.

Loved the episode. I really mean it. It was like an early Christmas gift to me.

I had previous expected this to be a simple filler episode, but this installment was one of the pivotol points of Lex's character development. This the episode where he finalizes his decision of who he truly wants to be in life.

Lex has now chosen the path of darkness. No going back; no more delays and step-backs. All that's left now for us is to watch him become more and more corrupt.

- Popular DC Comics hero Cyborg from the Teen Titans makes an appearance in this Smallville episode.

I think it's lame. Probably gonna be a Lexcorp experiemt. Anyone wanna tell us Cyborg's origins? I only saw him running around that show a few times and that's about it.

Good episode.

I want to spend Christmas at the Kent's.

I personally think that this future is not exactly what is a real alternate version, but what Lex actually wants. An idyllic family setting with the woman he loves, and having a wonderful friendship with Clark and his family. Notice that Lois is entirely absent, since the only time they ever spoke was in that fight they had in The Talon, and Lex's perspective that it would be preposterous to see Clark actually hooking up with Lois ever. Lex also knows that Clark is not really in good terms in Lois because of their constant personality clashes.

Also, I think it's not exactly Lex's desire to keep Lana alive that is the main cause of his descent to his dark side in Smallville. That would be too Darth Vader-ish. It's actually more general. His dream conversation with his father makes him realize that if he is stripped of his power and wealth, there is no way he can be truly happy or be able to protect anyone he loves. Lana's just part of the whole picture.

I like this episode. Kind of ironic that a series that's supposed to star the most ideal superhero in the entire world, has one of the darkest Christmas specials I've ever seen. It's also great to see that the main plot involves Lex, which is extremely rare.

In the comics, at least, Vic Stone's parents were scientists who opened a dimensional gateway that caused an alien to come through. It killed Vic's mom and terminally wounded Vic. His dad used prototype cybernetic implants to keep him alive and then replaced his destroyed muscles with them.

Since Smallville seeks to be more down-to-earth, I have no idea how they'll do him. I mean, a guy running around with half of his body being robotic?

He'll be a half breed from Lex-Corp that believes he was wronged by Lex and goes after him. He finds out in the end Lex isn't worth it and goes out on his own to use his new gifts to fight the good fight.

Martian Manhunter is a possibility for Smallville.

An answer from Executive Producer Miles Millar in issue #12 of the official Smallville magazine offers a hint as to another DC Comics character who may be coming in the show's future.

An answer from Executive Producer Miles Millar in issue #12 of the official Smallville magazine offers a hint as to another DC Comics character who may be coming in the show's future.

In an interview with Ian Spelling, Millar is asked about other classic DC Comics characters who may be showing up on the series. Here was his answer:

"One character we may bring to the show is the Martian Manhunter. There's always the possibility of having characters back, like the Flash or Mxyzptlk. If we find the story and it's organic, not forced, we love to do that."

The next confirmed DC character appearance on Smallville will be Cyborg in episode #15 of the current season.

I once wrote an episode of Smallville for a website that had a Metropolis detective named John Jones investigating a murder in Smallville with Clark involved. I only hinted at John being an alien with some things he said to Clark, and the end of the episode, there's a fire with John and the murderer inside and the only thing Clark can see is a green humanoid figure. After that, before John goes back to Metropolis, he says "You're not alone, Clark. You'll never be alone."

I wrote it with the foundation that every time a DC character visits Clark, he learns something new, like with Flash how he learned to lighten up and with Aquaman he learned to think globally. In this, it taught Clark that not all aliens are cold and cruel, and that there are more than just Kryptonians out there.

Er... was that your own? If it was good work.

Back. 1/12

Episode was all right. Nothing special and didn't give us geeks anything to be geeked out about.

Lex's fanclub gets out of control when their president (the first not so good looking chick cast on the show) goes pyscho and tries to kill Johnathan Kent. Obviously she's stopped with some kung fu moves by Lois and Clark useing his superspeed to catch the bullet. She was snipering from a projection booth at a rally.

Other noteable points...

Lionel wants to help fund Kent's campaign. Martha knows they're going broke and doesn't tell them so it looks like she just wants to be selfish and have Pa Kent stay home. At the end of the episode she contacts Lionel and takes the money.

Sex. The long lasting joke finds a place on a show geared towards teenagers who have nothing better to think about. My cousin hated it but I found it appropriate. Lana wants to know why they haven't done it since Clark "Came back from the dead" (got his powers back to those of us in the 3rd POV). Clark is afraid he's gonna kill her with his ummm... Anyway, I thought it was a decent way to touch on it without having some Jay n' Silent Bob character making jokes.

It was a decent return at best.

2.5/5

It was an ok episdoe. Nothing major. The only thing I was intrigued about was the opening scene with Lois shooting Pa Kent. I was wondering how that would play out.

The entire sex conversation/joke was pretty funny. All I could picture during the converstaion between Clark and Chloe was Brody singing the line from "Rapper's Delight": "...and I can bust her out with my Super Sperm"!!!

SMALLVILLE UPDATE

Former Miss Universe Denise Quinones is guest-starring in "Vengeance," the Feb. 2 episode of Smallville on The WB.

Here's how the network describes the episode:

"Clark (Tom Welling) discovers the new reporter at the Daily Planet, a bespectacled, bumbling woman named Maya (Quinones), is actually a masked avenger who fights crime at night. Meanwhile, Clark's bottled-up grief threatens to get the best of him."

Al Septien and Turi Meyer wrote the episode, which was directed by Jeannot Swarc.

Quinones, 25, won the Miss Universe title in 2001. Her acting resume includes Bad Boys II and the television series Freddie.

3/5 for this week's episode.

Synopsis for the show:

Jonathan becomes wary of how they're gonna pay for all the last minute campaign stuff.........but he later finds out that Lionel gave them the money. Big whoop.

Chloe does her Veronica Mars thing again while finding time to listen to Clark whine about his relationship with Lana.

Lana is still sexually fustrated. Her and Clark have a fight about the blueprints to the spaceship Lex was hiding. She and Lex have been researching the ship behind Clark's back.

Crazy cops trap Lex in a secret room a-la Jodie Foster in "Panic Room". Lana is kidnapped and forced to the mansion as leverage against Lex. The gruff female sherriff is shot and killed by the crazy cops.

Lex almost tells Lana he loves her. Meanwhile Clark is getting all emo on us by whining and getting jealous of Lex and Lana.

Of course Clark saves the day.......now this moment here had to be the highlight of the show. A bomb goes off in the warehouse while Lana is still in it. Clark runs at superspeed and actuall cuts thru the explosion/flames. Aside from seeing him fly last season.....this had to be the best display of his powers since the series began.

At the end (although it's not said right out) Clark decides he's gonna tell Lana the truth about him. That all happens next week on the 100th episode.

Overall, not a bad episode...but nothing to really get upset about because you missed it. I guess that's because you know the good stuff is gonna happen for episode 100....and everything else is the build up.

HA! I soooooooooo beat MWoF to the Smallville Review this week. :p

A few things were made absolutley clear to me in this episode.

#1) Lois has no purpose on this show at all.

They have no reason at all for her to be here other than ratings from the horny teenager bracket. She has nothing to do with Clark or any of the other characters anymore so they've come up with a flimsy excuse to keep her around.

Also, what's with the blonde hair? She's been getting blonder by the week.

#2) "Lexmas" changed nothing.

I think this one is pretty self-explanitory. Has Lex or anyone else's behavior changed one iota because of the events in "Lexmas", which was supposed to be the "Lex turns bad once and for all" episode? No.

#3) Lana is an evil, horrible, wicked, despicable person.

Up until tonight, I've known she was mean, self-involved, b*tchy, and maybe even a bad person. But truly evil? I didn't think so.

That was until the end of tonight's episode, when she decided to let a once good man and woman be psychologically tortured for the rest of their lives.

Yes, they killed two people and almost killed Lex, but the fact remains that it was all because no one believed them about the ship that killed all their friends, and all Lana had to do was come forward and say she saw it happen too.

No, it wouldn't mean the police would belive the story, and it certainly wouldn't mean the two people would be cleared of murder(nor should they be), but it would give them some solace, something to help them hold onto whatever's left of their soul.

Lana just didn't want to look crazy. So she's letting them be tormented and ridiculed for the rest of their lives, knowing they're not crazy but not being able to prove it.

I don't know who dies next episode(nor do I want to) but Lana really deserves it after this.

Anyway, it was an okay episode. A bit above average, but I still enjoyed last week's more.

Sad to see the Sheriff go since she's been here for so long.

3.5 outta 5.

I had a problem with a few things.

It just didn't interest me at all. Lex/Lana bores me and pisses me off. Clark/Chloe P.I.'s for hire was just forced. I mean Lana's in trouble and you have to go to three different places just to lead you to Lex? Please. It was all right but boreing.

Sheriff is dead  I'll give them a point for that.

3/5

Here's hopeing 100 lives up to the hype.
