Runaways Vol. 2 #1-24 (Brian K. Vaughan/Adrian Alphona) (spoilers)

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

I would really prefer the Loners over any other super people. Runaways vs. Loners would leave a nice sense of closure on BKV's run.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

So, I just picked up this week's and last week's issues today. And both are ****ing awesome... Was I the only one who thought, after Chase talked to the Gibborim for the FIRST time after runing away, that he was going to end up killing Molly?

Either way, I'm happy. Chase is my favorite.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

She wakes up to jailbait JAILBAIT!! Nico who then reveals "herself" to be Xavin attempting to satisfy her needs.
How old are Nico and Karolina supposed to be, anyways? I mean, I know they sell stuff like that in Hot Topic in some pretty small/underdeveloped bra sizes so the 13-y/o wannabe goth girls can wear it too... so I really don't see quite what the fuss is about. After all, that's about the age (13) by which half of American school children have participated in some sort of sexual activity...

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

Anybody else think the Pride may be making a return? The last two issues have featured two of the Runaways (Nico and now Karolina) dreaming about their parents. Could some of them be making a return from the 'afterlife'?

I thought that the voice Molly heard was the Leapfrog first, but when I looked at how Old Lace tried to go against Chase, a thought popped into my head. This may sound absurb, but in the context of this series I don't think it would be entirely out of place. We all know Gert transferred her link with Old Lace to Chase when she died, but what if that's not all she transferred? Could Gert, or at least part of her, be IN Old Lace? And don't forget, Old Lace is psychic to a certain extent, it's certainly not impossible for her to contact Molly in that way....

You might be on to something. I'm willing to totally buy that, yet. But it's not a stupid idea, it is possible.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

4-page preview in the Marvel's preview book. Because it's a preview, I'm not putting up spoiler tags.

The arc will be called "Dead End Kids". It starts with two people talking (off panel) about the Runaways. Showing pictures of the old Pride group and going over who's who and can do what. The thing about these guys is that the one who's telling the other person about the kids, is the reason why the kids are going to NYC. The one who learns about the kids says that the kids have reached out to the other one directly. There was doubt about the meeting since the person says they're powerful and would avoid getting involved in something. What's the something? Don't know. He/she got interrupted by the other one saying that he'll meet the children, because he likes children.

(Yes, it's a guy. You'll read why in a sec-)

Then it gets cut to the group in a resturant. Chase gawks at She-Hulk (who isn't shown) and the others talk. Nico tells Victor that things are ugly and that they need him to talk to the guy they're going to meet. Karolina and Xavin just talk about his appearance. Molly's the best, though. Her comment is to what Chase was talking about where she says, "She-Hulk has the fakest boobs I ever saw."

Chase tried to get Victor to look, while Nico asks if she'll be a problem, and asking, "Wasn't she an avenger?"

Molly comes in again saying "Yeah, but isn't this guy supposed to be the most evil person in the whole..."

(Next panel, Molly tilting her head a bit backwards and looking at us) "...stuff?"

The rest? Find out April 4th.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

Q: "razorwing77" - How long is Joss Whedon going to be writing Runaways? Just six issues? What are the plans for the series after that?

JQ: Joss is on for only six issues or Runaways, razorwing77. I know, lets all do a collective, AWWWWWW.

However, we are in discussion with someone truly special to hopefully take over after Joss is done. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope the timing works out.

I was correct. Whedon is only doing 6 issues. Someone who will stay on longer, and is a good writer better be on afterwards.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

So, it sucks that Whedon's only on for six issues. He's the perfect follow-up to BKV. completely ideal.... I really can't think of anyone else who can do Vaughan's book justice.

And the art's competent. More than that, it's good. But it seems like it's lacking in the outrageous designs Alphonse was so good at.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

Ten bucks says the next writer on Runaways is either Daniel Way, Frank Tieri or Chuck Austen.
