Just finished the new trade digest, which included issues 13 to 18.

Even though I knew who was going to die long before I read it, I still got a bit teary-eyed at the end.

So now that I own the first 18 of Volume 2, I really want to buy the Volume 1 Hardback. I absolutely loved it upon reading it when I got it from the library, but I know it's so expensive. But reading Parental Guidance really made me want to get it so I can bug all my friends to try to read it. :) There is a pretty good deal through the UC store, however....


Question: In Escape to New York, who was Cloak referring to when he sensed evil among one of them?

A lot of people speculate about Chase though because he's so shady (and totally cool). Nico's nature of her powers is something else to take into consideration. Someone who was absorbed when they first appeared though. Still a loose end.

Easily the best vol. of Runaways yet. My friend wasn't completely thrilled with the series and I let her borrow this to cap it off and she was completely blown away. I got teary eyed twice knowing who was going to meet their demise the second time around because seeing all of the scenes with her in it prior to the death was... :cry:

i re-reading number 18....did anyone else notice the mag the Mrs. Wilder was holding in 18 when Mr. Wilder was sent back?

that just stuck out at me, there were other things too, what would we do without Alphona to amuse us?

O SNAP! This is a MUST READ issue!

I'm gonna seriously miss BKV when he leaves the book.


This issue had one of the best cliffhanger endings I've seen.


SYNOPSIS
Issue opens with the Runaways squaring off against some cowboy werewolves. Yeah......that's right. Molly is about to get eaten when Chase steps in and sicks OL on one of the wolves. Chase tells OL to rip it's throat out. Nico protests and Chase spares the wolf.

They get back to the Hostel and we see Molly and Xavin playing RISK. Xavin is losing. Karolina says she's tired and is going to bed. Xavin is in girl form when Karolina kisses he/she goodnight. After Karolina leaves, Molly asks Xavin that if Karolina likes girls....then why he/she doesn't stay in girl form. Xavin doesn't really have a good answer.

In the other room we see Victor and Nico talking about Chase. Victor thinks that since Chase is now 18 and doesn't have the same views about the team as the rest that they should kick Chase out. Nico tells him that he don't have that kinda pull with the team yet so he should just be quiet. Then they start talking about the future of their relationship and kids. they go to kiss but Victor is still dmaaged so he shocks Nico. She leaves.

Nico later has a dream where her parents are alive and calling her a slut. Told ya.... :p

Meanwhile, Chase goes back to the Gibborim and asks about loopholes in the offer to bring Gert back. They say there are none. As long as the soul is pure.......they will bring Gert back just the way she was.

Chase leaves the dimension and when Nico wakes up she thinks she was having the slut dream again......but she finds herself tied up in mystical chains. The issue ends with Chase sitting across from her with a sinister look on his face saying "You're purest person I know."

God, Runaways is the most original comic I've ever read. I loves it.

And Nico is a slut. She's had Alex, Chase and Victor, and almost had Karolina. I wouldn't be surprised if she's waiting for Molly to come of age, or she hasn't gone and dug up Gert yet. And I'm pretty sure Old Lace is still available.

*waits for Sacred & Profane to go nuts*

BKV wasn't lying when he said this arc was the highpoint of his run.

He better not die, that's all I have to say...

He's just too good of a character, despite the **** he's up to.

Honestly... He has the makings for a great Next-Gen Supervillain.
