Runaways Vol. 2 #1-24 (Brian K. Vaughan/Adrian Alphona) (spoilers)

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

I also thought the issue was a good bookend to the beginning.

Alex will be back.

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

So, clues about the person they're meeting, assuming they're the same person who's getting briefed on them:

-It's a man.
-It's someone with a lot of resources, both for money and information, but their information isn't nearly as complete as Tony Stark's
-It's someone with good taste in food (or they might just want to impress the Runaways by meeting somewhere swanky)
-It's someone who would hire underlings and snark at them
-It's someone who She-Hulk might be suspicious of, but he probably isn't currently wanted
-He doesn't care about homosexuality
-He's sexist and would find a male more intimidating
-Victor doesn't want to work with him, but he thinks he might be dangerous or the situation might turn bad
-Molly thinks he's supposedly the most evil person in the world
-He has pink speech bubbles

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

Looked at next week's issue.

It's just a recap done by C.B in diary form. From Molly's perspective. Normally I'd pass......but its Molly POV!

I'm so torn right now....

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

I agree with Project. I think Runaways stands well enough on its own without injecting too much of the Marvel Universe intruding on it. I thought keeping them in California really helped the book.

Do we know how long they're going to be in New York? Is it just for this Whedon arc or is it a permanent move?

I think Whedon said something about how they were the most sedentary runaways he'd ever seen, and he's smart enough to keep them away from mainstream MU, so I think they're going to be moving around.

Whedon went to some pretty weird places in the last few seasons of Buffy and in some of his other fiction, but I can't think of anyone better for Runaways (besides BKV). :D

I completely agree with that. BKV and Whedon seem so much alike it's scary. All I'm worried about is the art. I just don't know if anyone can match Adrian Alphona's killer designs.

Also, I'm scared of who's going to follow up Whedon.

The character designs are consistent in the previews and the colorist is staying, so even if it's not mind-blowingly awesometastic like Alphona it'll be readable.

I don't know what's going on in this cover. I don't care. I don't care if it's a phot taken at a tourist trap. I don't care if it's a cop out. It's so... I can only describe it as whiskey tango foxtrot in the best way possible.

I love that Old Lace is blurred because he wouldn't stop moving.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot indeed, old chum.

Yeah but with the whole Iniative thing going on they will meet up with other heroes no matter what.

well there is alway traveling around the world

Re: Runaways series discussion (spoilers)

I love that cover. I can't even explain why. If it was a cover to one of the Avengers books, with their cast in victorian outfits, it wouldn't be awesome. Nor if it was with any other superhero team. However, with the Runaways...it's super totally teh coolness.
