I've decided that June 12th will be the day I buy a PS3.
In addition to MGS4 being released that day, Sony is releasing a bundle that includes MGS4 with an 80GB PS3 AND a Dualshock 3 for only $499. Considering the controller would set me back $55 and the game would set me back $60 AND the PS3 will have backwards compatibility. . .I'd say it's a steal.
I'm also going to be getting the God of War PSP bundle. I already own a PSP, but the screen is smudgy, has dead pixels and is a Phat model. The new one is a Lite, red, has a silver outline of Kratos' head and comes with the new God of War and Superbad on UMD. Damn good deal for only $199.

I only have my PSP for Darkstalkers, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, and Final Fantasy Tactics right now. God of War will be my fourth game for it.
In japan and (i believe) europe, the PS3 has some form of DVR operation. They need to add it to the US market (I sadly bought my Japanese White model before they offered the DVR add on).

I got a ps3 today with GTA IV and I am Legend on blu-ray I'm still figuring everything out but so far it's pretty cool though the updates took a while. Still I'm enjoying everything except ps3 store. The store makes it impossible to find demos ect... but still.

Today I bought a HDMI cable and hooked the ps3 to my big HD tv as it came with a normal 3 pin Scart like the Wii did. But my ps3 now looks great and I have all the settings turned to be great e.g DVD Up-scaling on.
I also got another control pad and the game Resistance : Fall of man. I don't like FPS however this is one of the few I'm loving. even more than the Halo series as I'm enjoying this in single player as well as multiplayer. I got it manily as it was reduced and I have mates staying here tomorrow night to watch the WWE P.P.V.

I don't think I could ever play PS3 in standard def again.
If you can post settings for DVD upscaling that would be awesome...I have it turned on but it doesn't look any different than regular DVD.
Technically, upscaling 480i (SD) DVDs won't change the quality all that much when displayed on anything bigger than 720. That's the inherent drawback to DLP as well, you're taking a 720x480 or 1152x720 image and expanding to 1728x1080 so you're getting artifact and dithering.
But yeah, my dad got a 1080p Bravia for the living room, and we HDMI'd the PS3 it's droolworthy.
My setting is :
Dvdvideo display : Letterbox
Dvd upscaler : normal
the rest is default settings (except blu-ray connection is on)
Display settinngs
video output : Hdmi

On another topic Curse the playstation store , curse it to hell. Thanks to it been on Psone store I've gotten hooked on Lemmings again , Not been hooked on this for years. I've even set my theme to lemmings but changed back ground to :
as the one that came with theme made it hard to see the lemmings icons (they are cool as hell e.g Music is now a lemming playing guitar)
I also uploaded the entire 14th season of the simpsons to it. I have 1-16 on my pc and wanted to try out the program I got to convert videos to ps3 format. So I picked a random seeason and tried it out worked great.
Last thing. Anyone on here using the internet play warhawk? That game is awesome

WOAH. BC on all PS3 models?! Including the 40GB?! How's that possible? :shock:
I was thinking the same. I have the 40 gb model as that's what they sell here and if all ps3 models have it that's awesome as there are few ps2 titles i want to pick up
