The games are coming soon and they will be amazing.

It's been like this for many console launches before this. N64 had two games on it's release day and it took quite a while to get more. This is just the way these things go sometimes.

Yeah, but will they be exclusive?

I thought I had read that all game publishers had pulled any exclusivity contracts they had with Sony...

Some publishers did. It doesn't make much sense right now to release exclusives for a console that hasn't sold alot of units yet, when you could release on a multiplatform level and rake in the dough. Still there are alot of exclusives coming.

Do you mean Final Fantasy? If so there is a Wii one coming plus Ds is getting them too and 360 has Final Fantasy XI with rumours saying they are making another one it too.

There will be 6 different FF13 games.
2 of them are exclusives to PS3 (at least for now)
1 of them is for DS (I'm not sure)
and the other 3 are not confirmed yet (I think)

Edit: The PSP FF game will be FF: Dissidia, a fighting game. And FF Crisis Core with Cloud, Zack and other fan favorite characters =P

The only lost exclusive which surprised me though was Devil may cry

Capcom is trying to make all of their games multiplatform.

It doesn't bother me that Sony is losing exclusives. This generation of gaming seems to be leaning towords first party titles being the main exclusives (Wii is an exception).

DMC series going multipaltform really doesn't bother me. After playing the first one I wanted to slit my wrists, it was so damn hard.

It's just I always think devil may cry = playstation

then I say an xbox magazine over here. it had devil may cry and the title said (I''ll admit i laughed at this) "PS3 exclusivity be damned" in big capital letters on the cover

I've stayed the same. I hate it, yet I still want it. Damn me.

I completely agree with you, Ice. I want one, but I'll be damned if I pay 600 dollars for it. At least, not until the lucrative Holiday season. I pretty much just want it for FFXIII, MGS4, Lair and Tekken 6, but if the former two went to the 360, I'd just pass on buying one at all.

As for what I know's been confirmed for FFXIII, two PS3 games (FFXIII and FF versus XIII) and one *grumble* is a mobile phone game (FF Agito XIII). There's another one that's been named (FF Haeresis XIII), but nobody's sure what its for, and there's two completely unknown ones yet. My guess? One's for the Wii, one's for the DS and one's for the PSP.

As for the other, known PSP FFs, those are Dissidea (A Super Smash Bros-esque fighting game) and Crisis Core, which is the first prequel of FF7, detailing Zack's life in SOLDIER, his relationship to the mysterious Angeal and Genesis (And his budding friendship with both Cloud and Tseng), and Sephiroth's spiral into insanity.

Sony updated the PSN store yesterday with Calling All Cars and a couple of other things as well. It's usually really slow, but today it's much faster to download stuff. I can't wait to play CAC.

God of War is at least 3 years away, and rumors have been flying for awhile that both FFXIII and MGS4 are going to the 360.

The PS3 will be relaesed in South Korea soon. Why should you care? Well you shouldn't.

Still, it's interesting to me that the version being relaesed has a 80 gig hard drive. We might see an 80 gig version here afterall. Then again maybe not.

I think you can use any SATA HD in the PS3 so I don't need it. I just want the 60gb because it has Wi-fi.
I'm probably getting mine in August.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get the 80 gig one in the US at the 599 price, and the 60 gig is lowered to 499.

New Firmware to be released tomorrow (ver. 1.8 ) will upscale PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games and DVD movies to full 1080p HD resolution, among other things. This is very cool.

I'd say its likely, since they're also considering brining the 80GB PS3 over to the States. If the 60GB does drop, however, don't expect it to be more than 100 bucks.

So the new firmware is pretty cool.

The DVD Upscaler is a pretty sweet addition. It's a little tricky to explain though. DVD resolution is usually 480i or 480p, the upscaler brings the resolution to 1080p if you have a HDTV that supports 1080p and your using a HDMI cable to connect. Some cables like Component or VGA might not be able to deliver the 1080p. Now the quality is not that of HDDVD or Blueray but the resolution is improved and out of the 4 or 5 DVD's tested, I noticed each one obviously looked better.

The Remote Play feature has been improved allowing you to use your PSP to view pictures and movies stored on your PS3 from anywhere as long as your PS3 is hooked up to the net and your PSP is near a wi-fi hotspot.

New slideshow for pictures.

You can now pull videos, pictures and music off your computer and play them on your PS3. I'm not sure how this works yet, me thinks you need a network or something. I don't know I'm a idiot when it comes to computers.

There may be some stuff I'm forgetting, anyway it's the best update for the system in a while.
