Wow. I thought ps3 was bad but I didn't know even sony themselves say it's a failure

Sony and PlayStation creator Ken Kutaragi made a joint statement Thursday saying Kutaragi would retire from his position as chairman and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment as of the company's next shareholders meeting on June 19, and that he has "been considering this decision for some time."

"When you go from superstar to walking disaster, there are few executives that can survive that," Enderle said. "You're only as good as your last financial report, and while he was given some leeway (with the PS3) there were obviously some huge mistakes."

Actually Sony didn't say that it was Rob Enderle, principal analyst at the Enderle Group who was quoted.

*shrugs* The pictures looked authentic enough. But, the fact Sony doesn't deny this rumor, combined with the fact that several news sites are reporting it makes it look real.

I agree that it would be insane to pay that much for a console but do you really think Sony gives two ****s if they get laughed at?

Just look at what they've already screwed up and all the hardships they've gone through with the PS3.

I wonder if anybody at Sony even knows what they're doing.

Obviously, they do. Can you honestly tell me Kutaragi's retirement only months after the PS3's launch wasn't forced?

he has done great work before and had future plans but ps3 lets face it was a mistake a really really bad mistake and unfortunately it does look like he was forced out for the mistake

Well there are a lot of cons. here are some

• Ps2 games look worse on ps3 the upgrade didn't help
  
• It boasts how interactive it's control pad tilt system is yet it's an obviously ripped off version of the Wii remote they added at the last second that fails in comparison and feels poor when playing.
  
• It boasts graphics yet the 360 is much better.
  
• The internet is worse than 360
  
• Downloadable games ripped of 360 and wii and again did it worse
  
• Now i said blue ray was a feature I liked but it looks like HD-DVD will that war then blueray will be useless and if it blueray wins it's only beacuse sony shoved blueray down peoples throats. should of been a seperate add-on like 360s hd-dvd player
  
• the price but not in the way you think. I don't care what it costs. But the price leads to a lot of sheep thinking more expensive = better.
  
• losing their exclusives
  
• Horrible support to developers

And i'm done. I have more but hate typing long messages :lol: but If you like ps3 that's cool enjoy it. My friend enjoyed his. He was only selling it as he really needed the money.

Yes, Sony has a militia group that goes to your house and forces you to buy a Blu Ray player. If Sony forced people PS3 would sell much more.

Xbox360 lost some exclusives too, not as good as, but lost it.

Playstation edge is coming and IBM is helping A LOT of developers.

Seriously, this looks much more like Sony bashing than cons of the console. I can't stand to listen to this anymore in the internet, I hate this new fad.

PS2 > PS3.

I want to talk about the console and it's games, but it seems everytime some one comes to this thread it to bash the ****ing console.

No , that was not in obvious way and didn't try and make out they invented the 4 buttons and directional. Some copying is natural and fine. but when nearly all the mean features are worse obvious rip offs then it's annoying and people pick up on it.

I want to know what people that bought the console have to say about it. I want news about the games and so on... It pisses me off when Im looking for something and all I see is people using the same argument against the PS3. Is the PS3 that bad? No... Is the PS3 the best? Hell no, but it has his advantages. And people really should try and wait to say something of the PS3. The beggining of the X60 was not tha great either and he didn't have rivals in the next-gen.

I've played, the conclusion I got is that I'm not in the target public of Nintendo. It is fun playing with friends, but It just doesn't have good games right now (the same could be said of PS3 though)

I only have one gripe about the PS3. It is why I have not bought it yet

A console should NOT cost 600 dollars. Period. The Jaguar tried it, the Neo Geo was a grand, both failed miserably. No one wants to pay that much for a console. Hell, I thought the PSP was too expensive at 200. I waited until it dropped to 169 to buy it.

And the only thing I blame it on is Blu Ray. If Sony had not gone with Blu Ray, they could have easily gotten the PS3 to the much more affordable (If still a wee bit high) 399 mark with minimal loss.

Sony wanted to have their cake and eat it too.

With the new 80 gig HD model coming out soon, I guarantee you it will take the $599 spot while the 60 gig version will take the $499 spot. It's the only way they can compete.

If they keep the price the same and only add 20 GB to the size of the hard drive, it would be suicide.
