Ourchair's Awesome Anime Thread

I tried Bakamonogatari.

First five seconds is a slowmotion pantyshot.

I'm really into Xam'd: Lost Memories, it's a PSN exclusive anime (but easy to find online, if you don't have a PS3).

What's the skinny?

It's a neat mix of sci-fi and magic, it's kinda like Bones' other big robot animes (Eureka 7 and RahXephon). Basically this kid gets transformed into a creature called a Xam'd, and he makes a deal with a girl to keep himself from being destroyed.

I love it. The emotion is so real and I got attached to the characters quickly. I also like the story over action. The action is great but the story and plot thus far is fantastic. At times, it feels more like a movie than a series and you really get the feeling that something huge is a stake.

This has to be one of my favoritest animes of recent memory (right up there with Bakemonogatari, Aoi Hana, Mnemosyne, Gundam 00, Blue Drop, Casshern SINs and Macross F)

*squeals and runs around like a lunatic* "Blue Drop got licensed!!!"

Man I'm gonna have to check out all those now with the exception of 00.

I'll warn you; Aoi Hana, Blue Drop and Mnemosyne are yuri/shoujo-ai anime (meaning girl/girl relationships are focused on). Aoi Hana is the most girly of the three, it's a slice of life/romance story. Blue Drop is a very cool sci-fi/action/romance. Mnemosyne, well, it's hard to describe, it's kinda like a supernatural/spy story about a woman who can't stay dead.

I agree with you, it is a great story, I simply lost complete interest in it.

Some of the stuff towards the end confused me, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

I have to agree with most of those (haven't seen the yuri stuff) though I lost interest in Casshern SINs around ep 9 or 10. I would also add Code: Geass, CANAAN, and Basquash! to that list. I think I'll check out Blue Drop, it sounds interesting.

FMA Brotherhood has picked up of late. I didn't like how they rushed through the early parts that got covered by the original series, but now that it's into the new material it's finally slowing down and getting pretty good.
