Ourchair's Awesome Anime Thread

Curse you, Iceshadow.

As always your taste is impeccable. Code Geass:Lelouch of the Rebellion is awesome. I've watched the whole first series and I'm up to date on R2.

CURSE YOU!!!

Right!?

I love Lelouch, he is such an *******. Rollo is fuxxored. Also, the dub started last weekend on Adult Swim.

damn I spent the past few hours watching the last 9 episodes of code geass. Damn!!!

I gotta say at the very beginning, it wasn't doing it for me. The story felt slow and the pacing was a bit annoying for my taste. But I figured what is 6 episodes of mediocrity compared to the other 19 episodes? I gotta say I hate the way it ended. But in my case that's usually a good thing and it was. I kept waiting for the moment they would finally realize who Lelouch was and it happened and it was glorious. Cornelia was an annoying *****. I kept waiting for her to die and she had many close calls. I don't know how I felt about the Orange guy...that one kind of threw me off base. The whole Euphemia fiasco was unexpected and ****ing brilliant. The Mao incident felt unnecessary and only justified the setup for Lulu to use his geas on that redhead.

In the end, I have to say Ougi is my favorite character. He has alot of potential and I felt he was underused and largely ignored. They should have explored his situation more and kinda of built up a stronger relationship with Chigusa so revelation towards the end would have made a bigger impact. But that's just me.

Have you started season two yet? So far it has been just as awesome.

As my Avatar and sig can attest, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is still awesome.

It's a giant mecha series from the same guy who did Fooly Cooly. And each episode is a barrage of over-the-top goodness.

For the love of god, it has a robot so huge it can use galaxies as shuriken!

(I'm pretty sure I'm repeating myself. Sorry.)

Actually I just recently finished that series, and I have to agree with you completely. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is awesome. It's a slick series with likable characters, plenty of action, and a cool storyline. My only complaint was that
the ending was really bittersweet
. 4/5

I'm rewatching Simoun, I've come to realize, I believe I'm an emotional masochist...

You drink the tears of others?

My friend endorses drinking the tears of his fallen enemies. The salty discharge brings him much joy.

and that's what she said.

So im pretty caught up on my code geass. Anybody recommend something else with action that has awesome story? I saw this one movie called Mukoh Haden. It's pretty pimpalicious. I'd like some movie recommendations as well.

masochist dear, not sadist.

What I'm saying is, even though the anime breaks my heart every time I watch it, I keep watching it.

My bad, I don't why I got that mixed up.

Macross Frontier is okay, if you can find anything on Basilisk it's about ninja's killing each other. However, as mentioned above, Tegen Toppa Gurren Lagann is pretty action oriented and has a decent story. As for movies: Princess Monoke, you've probably seen it but if you haven't do yourself a favor and rent it.

I'm diggin Macross Frontier, it has a feel similar to the original Macross.

If you're willing to wade through some girlxgirl drama, Simoun is an amazing series.

If you kinda wanna do some do some old skool, there's GunBuster and DieBuster, fun giant robot Gainax goodness.

Basilisk is the shiznizzle. Who knew ninjas could be so violent?

And none of them wore orange and spazzed out by ending every sentence with Dattebayo...

Cool, I'll try to find something on GunBuster and DieBuster.
