Ourchair's Awesome Anime Thread

 I've been watching New Dr Slump and I kinda like it.

I watched it for the Dragon ball stuff. E.g One of the characters plays a DBZ video game , couple of times Goku (kid from dragon ball) shows up.

It's worth checking out

I just saw a trailer for Godannar... I can't tell whether it's a parody or not.

Bouncing breasts and giant robot fights are what made me never really consider anime as a popular medium.

I dunno about you, but it's definitely going on The List of Anime I'm Not Buying.

I dunno, anime that revolves entirely around an in-jokey spoofing of the anime culture itself --- mecha, hentai, etc --- just stopped being clever when they made Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure.

I agree, and I remember when Dual was on Tech TV.

In other news I'm really digging the opening song to Ghost Hound unfortunately, the anime itself is really slowly paced.

I've been watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Remember Neon Genesis Evangelion? That anime that more or less deconstructed the giant robot genre? Well, now the studio is doing a straight up giant mecha series.

It has robots so large they can throw galaxies like frisbees.

It's fun.

watch this and someone please tell me what that anime at the end is. it's freaking killing me. Also if you could tell me, where that girl who does the headbutt, where that anime is from and it would be much appreciated.

I don't know what the last one is but the one of the redhead girl head butting is from Gintama (I'm pretty sure).

The Redhead is from Samurai X

The anime at the end is Noein (i believe it's currently on Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday)

I just finished the first season of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and holy **** was it awesome!

It's set in the near future, and the nation of Britannia has conquered most of the world thanks to the invention of mobile suits called Knightmares. Japan has fallen so it's new name is Area 11 (Japanese are now Elevens, and are second class citizens). Lelouch Lamperouge is Britannian student who gets his kicks from underground chess games (seriously), he gets caught up with some terrorists and BAM! He gets the Geass (basically it lets him control anyone he makes eye contact with). The first thing he does?
He orders a squad of Britannian soldiers to shoot themselves in the head
. With this power Lelouch decides to revolt.

I wasn't sure about this show at first, but it is ****ing awesome (especially in the later episodes). I highly suggest it.

NOTE: In that link, the sound isn't synced properly in episode 1 but every other episode is okay.

I finished Noein sometime last week. It wasn't too bad. I like the concepts of otherworldly travel. The last fight was meh, and as obvious as it was to see Atori disappear, I need some closure. I need a fix. Anyone got suggestions?
