Ourchair's Awesome Anime Thread

Has anyone heard of this new anime movie coming out. I forgot what it was called but it looks visually intense. It's crazy looking. The name is at the tip of my tongue. Any help on this?

I agree.

I LIKE Spirited Away really. I just hate it when people are so obviously faking their like of it to appear cultured. Because you know, nobody gets a gig writing for Salon or The Village Voice by raving about giant robot anime.

I suspect that you are speaking of Paprika. If I remember correctly, it's going to be released this month I think in America by Sony Pictures Classics.

I just finished watching the first episode. It was ****ing ridiculous. They just set up different scenarios to have Dante shooting demon things in the face. Dante had a completely different personality from the games and the tone seemed different as well.

But it was still wicked awesome.

i really love this image. especially for the cats in the background because they look really ace. i think if those cats said "hey jonny wanna hang out with us?" it would be the best thing ever!

Had I actually read other people's posts, I would have saved you LOTS of work finding that. I have about 3.5GB of Shirow work on my computer, not counting mangas, artbooks and posters.

but yeah really it took me a while to find this sucker. but look at those cats!! i ****ing love cats. whenever i visit Japan i bring back like a porcelain cat for my mum but really i think i love them more than she does. one of them has a solar panel in its back so its tail wags all day long until the sun goes down :D

The new episode is still pretty good too. im not familiar really with the games. i playd DMC 1 for about ten minutes and thats it. although i really liked what i experienced and the look of the series i never really bothered with it. I like this series but i kinda hope there is going to be a continuing storyline in it somewhere too. at the moment there are only 12 episodes scheduled but i guess that could change or maybe we could get a second season
 
Death Note final episode (37) just hit the net with english subtitles.

I really wish I could get into Death Note. I just can't get into any of the characters.
 
I really dig the characters in Death Note.
They have some nice comic relief characters too such as Matsuda, Ryuk and Misa. Misa is always good for a laugh

I've just started watching Ergo Proxy, I'm on episode 4, it's a bit confusing. My GF's best friend says it clears up as it goes, and kinda has that Noir feel to it.


Another anime I've been watching is Coyote Ragtime Show (it's kinda like Outlaw Star meets Cowboy Bebop).

Sweet, I haven't seen OS since toonami. Cowboy Bebop I was introduced to about 4 years ago. Very nice. Ein's my favorite.
 
DEATH. NOTE. IS. FINISHED!!!!!!

well i gotta say i was disappointed with the final episode and i still think
it should have all ended when L died
but as a whole this series was really great. i wish i could have read the manga but there is no distributor for it in the uk. i hate when an anime series is finished like FMA. im still in denial about FMA being over and there just HAS to be something more for FMA. Oh well, roll on the live action L spinoff i guess

Death Note Manga

Go and read it. It's far superior to the anime.
