i hate reading books on the internet. but i will probably fold and maybe give it a try as it looks like we have to wait till october/november for the first few volumes of death note. cheers wade
I've just started watching Ergo Proxy, I'm on episode 4, it's a bit confusing. My GF's best friend says it clears up as it goes, and kinda has that Noir feel to it.
Another anime I've been watching is Coyote Ragtime Show (it's kinda like Outlaw Star meets Cowboy Bebop).
DEATH. NOTE. IS. FINISHED!!!!!!
well i gotta say i was disappointed with the final episode and i still thinkbut as a whole this series was really great. i wish i could have read the manga but there is no distributor for it in the uk. i hate when an anime series is finished like FMA. im still in denial about FMA being over and there just HAS to be something more for FMA. Oh well, roll on the live action L spinoff i guessit should have all ended when L died
You should really really really watch Berserk. i don't think I've seen a group of people so angry at an ending. if you think FMA is bad, I don't think it's anywhere close to as bad as berserk. = Ulrtimate Cliffhanger
whats Berserk about then?
It's about this guy named Gatz (or Gutz, it keeps changing in the subtitles) who wields a zweihander type sword and his journey with this mercenary type group. I forget what they're called but the leader name is griffith and he goes around fighting the best fighters and he beats them so he owns them. He does that with Gatz and most of the story revolves around those two with a pretty good supporting cast. It's bloody as hell too. I think adult swim even admitting that even if they edited the show there wouldn't be enough minutes for it to run on a 30 minutes slot. Something like that. anyway, the beginning starts off in the present and he's missing an arm which is replaced by a crossbow enhancement of some sort. And he's fighting some huge serpent demon. Then the next episode starts off when he was like 16 and that's where the rest of the series continues until it comes back to the present.
Well, Berserk is okay. It's really just a bunch of senseless violence and shock value. Gutz fights demons. Gutz fights humans. Gutz rapes his girlfriend! There's all kind of crap about destiny and unanswered questions...not to mention the complete mind-**** ending.
Ergo Proxy, however, is very, very good. So is Coyote Ragtime Show.
He doesn't rape anyone. That's Griffith. It continues in manga format from what I hear, but it never continued in the anime. i think it was really good. If you like lots and lots of action and violence, this is it. The plot isn't too bad, I just don't want to give too much away.
well ill give the first few episodes a shot.
what are you guys watchin at the moment then?

I'm rewatching Cowboy Bebop, my favorite series. Not for the same reason everyone else likes it though; the whole thing is just a tribute to Bruce Lee. And being the huge Bruce Lee fan that I am, I find that to be totally awesome.
I'm also watching Ergo Proxy, which is the best anime I've seen in a long, long time. It's kind of like a noir Evangelion...but with less Shinji-*****ing. Which is a good thing, by the way.
I thought Spike, appearance wise, was molded after a Japanese actor or character
Maybe. I dunno.
However, every single episode contains at least one piece of Bruce Lee's philosophy and he is quoted frequently. Spike's martial art, Jeet Kune Do, also happens to be a fighting system developed by Bruce Lee. The director himself even stated that the whole thing was just a tribute to him.
Spike's appearance was modelled after the late Japanese actor, Yusaku Matsuda particularly for his famous role in "Tantei Monogatari."
Yeah, who doesn't know that? Bruce Lee is awesome. They were showing Enter the Dragon hosted by his daughter on Spike on Saturday.
found this on wiki.
It's always been a goal of mine to marry a member of Lee's family. His grand daughter is priority number one right now. Even though she's like 8 months old or something.
17 years and 4 months to go.
