Nintendo Wii discussion

Re: Nintendo Wii - prerelease news & discussion

Wow, that's a lot of money. :(

So to be sure, I don't really need to buy a memory card right away, just say play Zelda and save it on the HD and then get a MC later and save it there? I just like to be sure since I know I'll be playing Zelda all night Sunday.

No, you won't. At least, that's what I'm reading.

Anyway, I'll be picking up both the Wii and Zelda on launch night. I've been struggling with a decision on Red Steel, but I think I'm going to wait on the reviews before I shell out 50 bucks for what may be a mediocre game.

Re: Nintendo Wii - prerelease news & discussion

Red Steel and Zelda seem to be the only games I'm interetsed in. Other than that......meh.

Re: Nintendo Wii - prerelease news & discussion

The Wii and the X-Box 360 are going to be around $500-600 here, while the PS3 is going to be $1,000+.

 Ouch, that sucks

I just called my local Wal-Mart and they told me they had around 40 Wii systems for sale. They only got 6, 60GB PS3s, and 2, 20GB PS3s so my chances are much greater of actually getting one without camping out. I can't wait!

Re: Nintendo Wii - prerelease news & discussion

Got it and. . .the games that are tuned for it are AWESOME.

Zelda is. . .well, Zelda (So its automatically awesome), Trauma Center is AWESOME AS HELL (It's really intense!), and Wii Sports is a ridiculous amount of fun. I hope they make Wii Punch Out, Wii Mario Strikers, and Wii Mario Tennis and they are half as good as Wii Sports.

Now Madden and Red Steel. . .suck. Both games sensitivity to the controller is terrible, Madden looks like an N64 game, and Red Steel is just painful to play (Story, controls, everything).

Hopefully, some of the games in a few months will be good. I have high hopes for Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Also, changing title of thread.

I was with my friend when he got his, after he waiting in line for 3 days.
Wii Boxing and Wii Tennis are unbelieveably awesome. I mention those, because they're the ones I got to try.:(

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Despite my denial of the title, I'm definitely getting this.

Games I want:

Legend of Zelda

M:UA

Also, does anyone know if the Nunchuck is seperately from the controller?

yeah, the nunchuk is separate.

Soooo, it took about 5 hours of me waiting on line at Nintendo world, even with a pre-order, but i am home with my new baby. Picked up zelda but i'm only gonna try wii sports for now, cause zelda is like crack and i have some important stuff to do over the next few days, and i won't be able to concentrate.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

I'm so jealous of all of those who have thii Wii.:(

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

I hope they make a star wars game for this.

swinging the Wiimote as a lightsaber would be the greatest game ever!!!

You basically play a surgeon. You have to cut people open, give them injections, remove foreign objects (Glass, for example) from people without injuring them more, remove tumors, stabilize people, scan them for injuries and infections, stitch them up, etc. The story is actually surprisingly deep (Although it's basically just static images of various doctors and nurses just talking). It's not graphic either (No visible bleeding or anything). It's a ton of fun, but a bit nerve wracking, thanks to the Wiimote.

Sounds like a computer game version of the board game operation

It. . .basically is. But the cutting open, stiching up, injecting. . .it makes it a little more complicated.
