Naruto

The girl in my Art class who wears a Naruto headband to school everyday has made me decide that I will never read Naruto.

I know a guy who wears a Naruto headband.

His parents are divorced, and he beat the crap out of a girl because she wouldn't swear.

...yeah.

How old is she?
She's a senior, so 17 or 18, I'm guessing...

That's terrible and all, but let's not forget the important thing here, he wears a Naruto headband in public.

Monster.

That's like saying you won't read Marvel comics because you know a kid who wears a Captain America outfit to school. It's irrational. IRRATIONAL!

Well I probably wasn't going to read Naruto anyways, but this just cements it.

I can see why you wouldn't...it seems to be childish and immature, and would appear to cling to every archetypal story imaginable. However, once you actually get into it, you'll find that it's surprisingly original and has a few good plot twists.

Is the manga like the anime? Because I watched the first two or three episodes of the show and thought it was stupid and over-hyped.

The manga is paced better, has a lot less stupid filler, actually has good art (as opposed to the abysmal animation of the anime) and you don't have to deal with the annoying voice acting.

But honestly? You kind of have to stick with it. Things don't really get good until Zabuza shows up.

So, so dead.

But his death will act as an inspiration for Naruto, in an Obi-Wan/Luke kind of way.

"Naruto, you must go to degava, there a mile for the town's center you'll find fence with a hole, you must finish your perverted training"

I honestly don't care who wins, but Jiraiya has grown considerably stronger since he fought Hanzo, and if his strength was on par with Orochimaru's, and Orochimaru was on par with the rest of Akatsuki, then I think Jiraiya still has a fighting chance (although not much of one.)
