So this answered why Adam hasn't killed Hiro when he was a child - he was incarcerated.
I liked the episode - it managed to reveal stuff while at the same time, not going forward at all.
I thought DL stole the show. I expected Niki to kill DL as Gina, but regardless of who ended up killing him, the fact that he survived the gunshot in #23, lived, became a hero, and then went out - awesome episode.
Kensei/Adam is super cool, as was the explanation of why Nathan's not scarred (it also, presumably, pays off Claire's insistence in the possibility in her being able to help medical science heal people - nice bit of foreshadowing, totally set up that scene for us). I have to say, Nathan and Noah are fast becoming treasured members of this cast for me. I'm loving Nathan at the moment.
Elle is still an electro-cutie. I love her.
I felt the Twins were crap BUT the scene where Maya kills the village was intense. That scene was worth it.
Some good stuff - I especially liked how Peter ends up shirtless.
That said... the episode completely confirms my total distaste for the amnesia storyline.
Let's look at the amnesia storyline - Peter wakes up in a box, is released, doesn't know who he is. Goes to Montreal, trips into the future, trips back, and meets Adam, who tells him "let's save the world".
BUT - There's no need for it.
Where are we right now? Peter and Adam are freed from the Company, ready to 'save the world'.
If Peter DIDN'T lose his memories? If he NEVER went to Ireland? Where would we be? Peter and Adam are freed from the Company, ready to 'save the world'.
EXACTLY THE SAME POINT.
There's no need for it EXCEPT for travelling into the future, and that could be done ANY TIME.
So here's how they could've done it - Peter's not in the show. At all. Nathan says he's dead, and we've nothing to contradict it. We see Nathan and Peter explode in the air (WHICH WAS AWESOME!) and when Nathan passes out, that's it. It's like this episode after episode.
THEN, with the Nightmare-Man hounding Bob, Bob tells Nathan the truth: PETER IS ALIVE!!!! (The fans explode.) How else did he survive the fall? Peter saved him. And Peter's been locked up with Adam for FOUR MONTHS, and they just broke out... two days ago and headed somewhere, but they don't know where. Nathan gets his act together and goes to find his brother.
And we're worried because IS PETER A BAD GUY?!?!?! HE'S THE MOST POWERFUL OF THEM ALL?!?!?! OMG!!!!!
And then, in the next episode, "Four Months Later" you play the whole "how Adam got Peter out by pretending he's good chap n' all" scenes.
Totally and utterly same place.
The difference? It's episode 5 and we've not had that bollocks amnesia crap.
