Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Me either, its just when I heard Prison Break was going to be 2 hours I just knew this would happen

Yeah, I hate waiting, and I've been looking forward to that 4 months episode since the season started. I really want to know what they told the police that were all around at the end of the season.

I think the rest of the season is going to be going at a breakneck pace. We'll be getting a whole lot of answers. They're referring to tonight's episode and the next four episodes as an "event", so I'd imagine this is where the **** hits the fan.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I honestly think that this might get HEROES cancelled. I doubt there will be a third season. Considering that DRIVE and FIREFLY and CRUSADE and others get cancelled so quickly, I can imagine NBC thinking that they're going to get out while the going's still good and not risk any more.

I think quite the opposite.

This show is going into "Desperate Housewives" syndrome, first season critically acclaimed with strong writing and an intriguing overall plot, and then even though the second season hasn't been as good so far, its still going to retain a lot of viewers, and has a whole new crop of viewers from the DVD sales (which are enough to ensure a third season).

The attention the first season got will give Heroes at LEAST three seasons. If the second season fails, they will try to rework it to get back the attention and money they got from the first season. If the attention holds, and the show continues at the level its going, we'll get even more from them, plus gimmicks like even bigger stars in guest roles to reclaim lost viewers.

Will & Grace and Friends stayed on the air for years because NBC trusts brand-name marketing and Heroes is already a successful brand-name. FOX is always paranoid about losing money, and cancels good shows when they stop making money, while NBC knows how to keep shows on the air for money in the long-run...

The Strike might lead to a longer mid-season hiatus, but even if that's the case, they'll just push the marketing for the end of the season.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

So, uh. . .there's a rumor Tim Kring quit the show due to producers wanting him to wrap up storylines due to the strike.

I. . .I would be very upset if this is true.

I have no fear of Heroes being cancelled

That would suck

If that's true, ignore everything I just said.

Then again, they might abduct Jeph Loeb, which will keep him from destroying the Marvel Universe.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Great ep. This is what we need. Less crappy new characters. More of the heavy-hitters.

If this is the case, I can totally see why he would and support him in that.

I do, too, but what does that mean for the future of Heroes? I mean. . .it'd be like if Abrams left LOST or Whedon had left Buffy. I just. . .can't think of that.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I hope that's not true, especially because tonight's episode was classic. After last week's ho-hum episode, especially.

Anyone watched it yet? It's great.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Found out more about Kring.

He didn't leave. He's still with the show and still has a great relationship with the network. It was misinterpreted because he decided to support his writer friends by walking the picket line. So, looks like that's been cleared up.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Can I get a synopsis of last episode? I missed it last night... And NBC's website doesn't let me play the episodes.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Sweet jesus that was a cracker of an episode. When they mentioned Adam I thought he might be Kensei, and that confirmed it. I can't wait for the inevitable "You killed my father!" moment and the showdown between Hiro and Kensei.... Although the only way for Hiro to take him down would be to freeze him in time forever....

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I have a question, did the intro (the one with earth and "HEROES" showing up) always have a green background? I remember it didn't but I could be wrong.

Also about the line that HRG said in last weeks episode when he looked at the picture at Ivans, "I didn't know you had a daughter?". Well aren't there a girl with electric powers that we always trying to figure out who the father is?

Or teleport him into outer space.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I can't wait for claire to figure out she's basically immortal...

Also: Peter left Irish girl in the future, cuz he's a stupid

AND WHAT THE HELL ARE ANGELA PETRELLI'S POWERS?!

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I loved this episode, mainly because it ended the love triangle, I'm glad they played that down there. I loved the sword fight between Hiro and Kensei, I wish it was longer.

This episode was the reason why the other ones sucked, cause they wanted to make the big reveals happen in this episode and didn't have the story or budget to fill in the others.

It wasn't green before, I'm wondering what the deal with that is.

Or either cut off his head or take out his brain. Highlander style

AND WHAT THE HELL ARE ANGELA PETRELLI'S POWERS?!
I think it was Twi who suggested she had some sort of electrical powers, when Parkman's father attacked he essentially had he attack herself, but no way did he make the lights flicker on and off.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It isn't the negative comments. I somewhat agree with them. The show seems to be in a sophomore slump, something many shows have gone through. Hopefully, the season will end on a high note, they'll trim down the cast a little, and it'll be back in top form for Season 3. The problem was the constant comparison to LOST. That's all.

Please, feel free to have negative commentary on the show. I understand it, even if I may not always agree with it. Whenever you , or whoever, brings it up, it feels like flame baiting, something that I have now apparently taken the bait for (Even though Ice wasn't baiting me). That's all I ask.

Kay, sorry.

If that's true, ignore everything I just said.

Then again, they might abduct Jeph Loeb, which will keep him from destroying the Marvel Universe.

Uh, Jeph Loeb was a major creative mind behind Heroes Season 1... (It's why he left LOST during Season 2.)

I have a question, did the intro (the one with earth and "HEROES" showing up) always have a green background? I remember it didn't but I could be wrong.

That's all a part of every NBC show this week to have a message about the environment (Green is Universal). They couldn't really work it into the show, so they had a segment featuring the cast members planting trees during the ads and changed the title segment to a green background.

Wait until this week's 30 Rock, though (all the Thursday comedies will work the message in, which'll be difficult for The Office since they work at a Paper factory.). It's going to be EPIC.

And guys, last night's episode rawked. The first good episode of the season. Sorry, the first GREAT episode of the season. I hope it stays that way for the last four episodes... (Heh.)

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

This WAS the best episode so far... There was a lot of information being thrown around that I would only hope they were saving for this one. I mean, there were a lot of different turns for each of the characters.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I too enjoyed this week's episode more so than any other of the second season's so far. Was a bit disappointed in Kensei turning out to be "the big bad guy" of this season, only because it was easily predicted by just about everyone. Still, really looking forward to figuring out his motives and his character in the modern day.
