Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Dude - you don't like HEROES. We get it. Stop making baby noises.

This is true.

And yet LOST is still the superior show.

This is true.

Though I don't watch the show (I've tried, it sucks)

This is not.

But I didn't know you finally checked it out. Did you start from the beginning or with this season?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Just deleted 6 posts RE: the Lost/Heroes thing.

Sufficed to say - if you like LOST, don't come in this thread to bash HEROES. If you do - even slightly, someone might flame you and then I have to delete 6 posts.

So let's keep this on topic about HEROES and that way we can not piss each other off.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Dude - you don't like HEROES. We get it. Stop making baby noises.

In six episodes we've seen all eight paintings. In LOST, in six episodes, we'd be lucky if someone had finally convinced Sawyer to lend them penicillin.

As for the season finale thing - this is very odd. We'll have to see. At least Generations finished before the New Year, which is awesome. I'm glad it's not going to drag out too long.

First of all, it's not baby noises; it's the Debbie Downer musical cue, which I guess doesn't really translate over the web. (But you guys'll get it now, I hope.)

And second, I like Heroes. (Season 1, that is.) Why would I continue to watch it if I wasn't already invested in the characters' stories?

The problem is that Season 2 has suffered from a major case of suckitude. (The country seems to agree with me; each episode of the season so far has gotten the lowest ratings of any Heroes episode ever.) I still like the show (somewhat), but I'm really disappointed that Tim Kring and company couldn't come up with anything of real quality to follow up the (mostly pretty good) first season.

Why shouldn't I be allowed to post in this thread? So what if all I have to say right now are negative comments? The show certainly deserves 'em as of the moment. Let's just hope this virus 5-part story can kick some energy back into this dying show. Kirsten Bell's debut certainly didn't (powers notwithstanding).

Now please excuse me while I go enjoy "Friday Night Lights" with the cool kids.

It isn't the negative comments. I somewhat agree with them. The show seems to be in a sophomore slump, something many shows have gone through. Hopefully, the season will end on a high note, they'll trim down the cast a little, and it'll be back in top form for Season 3. The problem was the constant comparison to LOST. That's all.

Please, feel free to have negative commentary on the show. I understand it, even if I may not always agree with it. Whenever you , or whoever, brings it up, it feels like flame baiting, something that I have now apparently taken the bait for (Even though Ice wasn't baiting me). That's all I ask.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I wished they took a cue from the movies Spider-Man 3 and X3 that putting too many characters does not improve the quality of the series. The episode "Company Man" last season even proves that.

I'm still looking forward to this improving though as things are starting to finally kick off. Takezo going to the dark side, Bennet once again reverting to his original past, even West seems to already show hints of being a villain himself. Sylar is adding some interest with the ho-hum twins as well.

I think it should also be noted that the first few episodes of Season 1 was pretty boring too. I don't mind Heroes: Origins be pushed back for now if this gets rid of Heroes' slump and brings back its viewers. The Guild strike thing still sucks ***.

My bet is this Adam Monroe guy is Takezo Kensei or Elle's daddy. Or maybe both. We haven't gotten any word until now about Takezo's English name. He's most probably virtually immortal because of his ability.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Looks like the strike is going ahead and could possibly last several months.

I honestly think that this might get HEROES cancelled. I doubt there will be a third season. Considering that DRIVE and FIREFLY and CRUSADE and others get cancelled so quickly, I can imagine NBC thinking that they're going to get out while the going's still good and not risk any more.

I dunno.

HEROES isn't the best show ever made, I think there are many more superb shows, but of it's ilk - the mainstream serialised soap opera 'mystery' show - it's, in my opinion, the best and certainly not the worst, and it would be a shame if it didn't last as long as its contemporaries due to hesitation.

You know, Bass, if the show really does get cancelled, I'm now going to blame it on you. And then I'm going to hunt you down and stab you in the leg.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I tried! I called him and said, "Dude. Listen. Some of this stuff is stupid." and he responded with, "At the third stroke, the time sponsored by Accurist will be Four-Thirty-ONE-A.M. Beep. Beep. Beep." And so I was all, "Dude. Stop impersonating the Road Runner (badly) and listen!" "Beep Beep Beep" "Dude. It's MEEP. Not BEEP." "Beep Beep Beep." So, at the end of my tether, I yelled at him, "Kring. Let me guess - Nathan's the murderer except he isn't but is and the plague is caused by Maya getting the virus." "..." "Well?" "****. How did you know?" "I am one with the show, Kring." "Beep Beep Beep" "It's too late for that turd-burglar. Now gimmee a job." "Okay." "Really?!" "Sure. This is your imagination. You can have whatever you want." "Oh." "It's your imagination. That makes it real." "Yeah, but not real in that flesh-pokey kind of way." "No not in tha... did you want to flesh-poke me?" "No! No. I just thought, if I'm going to imagine a conversation I don't want it to be with you. I'd rather imagine a certain nocturnal event with a certain Dutch actress." "Oh. So you don't even want to talk to me? Well, hell with you. And I was going to give you a job." "Well, if it's not a job that blows, I don't much care." "Congratulations. You've destroyed television." Then he hung up.

Frankly, I think he overreacted.

If Heroes gets cancelled, those writers are getting a sulphuric acid enema. Then all the execs at NBC for being bloody stupid for cancelling it, and not just waiting.

We are talking dark phoenix scale rage. Only less ginger, flamey, and no girl parts.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

My gf and i totally noticed that! I swear the actress just gave it a strange read and no one bothered to correct her. It didn't make any sense, and that's not how you pronounce it. Mohinder even said it correctly in the next scene.

I think it was brilliant. I can so see a HS girl saying extraordinary that way thinking she was being fanct and smart-sounding, but really, all she is saying is that "I want you to be more just like everybody else than you already are." Which, let's face it, is really what she wants, considering she's what West would call a "Robot."

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

is there anyway they would put it on hiatus until the strike is over?

EDIT: Eventful episode is eventful!

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

THIS is what I've been waiting for! THIS is the defining episode of Season 2. So much happened and EVERYTHING is finally tying together. Hiro returns, becomes the Tazeko Kensei of legend. . .and creates the villain of Season 2, Adam Monroe. Although predictable, I'm glad Hiro is back and that the prediction of Kensei/Adam being the villain was right. Hell, I thought it was pretty brilliant to make Maury and even Linderman just subordinates of Adam.

And then of course, everything happening with the Company. Matt surpassing his father and saving Molly, Nikki injecting herself with a mutated strain of the virus, and Mohinder doubting Bennet and giving his allegiance to the Company was all wonderful. Not to mention that it seems all of the paintings are coming true.

And even West finding out about Bennet and visa versa is going to lead to an interesting confrontation. And now the Company looking for Claire as the new cure for the virus.

And, of course, Peter regains some of his memory, leave Caitlin in the future only to return to get re-acquainted with Adam. I'm glad the jump to the future was only one episode, too.

Everything connects through Adam it seems. He was the one that brought the original 12 together, he is pretty much confirmed to be the killer by using Maury (And getting his revenge on Hiro by killing Kaito!). MAN, great episode. I'm really looking forward to next weeks recap, too. It looks like there are going to be plenty more revelations revealed next week. I'm just upset that the season is going to end so soon now. :(

I too loved the episode, for all the reasons you stated. My only qualm is now we know for certain that Peter is immortal. So, he has all the insane powers of everyone else, he's slowly but surely regaining his memory, and he's IMMORTAL. Now the writer's can't even kill him in order to get themselves out of this mess. What can they possibly do next with his character now that he's all-powerful? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

And I had to watch Prison Break instead, had a feeling that was gonna happen.

Oh MAN. You missed A LOT. Watch it when it hits the web, ASAP. And don't miss next weeks episode, which explains the four month gap between Seasons 1 and 2.

I'm with you man. I didn't regret it though.

The good thing is you guys can just watch it on the website tomorrow, so it's really not a huge deal.

I am still kind of trying to recover... Maybe I can just pretend this was the best episode in the season because the twins weren't in it.

Me either, its just when I heard Prison Break was going to be 2 hours I just knew this would happen

Yeah, I hate waiting, and I've been looking forward to that 4 months episode since the season started. I really want to know what they told the police that were all around at the end of the season.
