Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

...

On one hand: :D

On the other:

The 'spoiler' doesn't make much sense. There are some pieces of the jigsaw missing. We'll have to see how it all fits together.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I'd put it at an A-/B+, but it definitely keeps you wanting more

MAJOR SPOILERS

The Following is from Aint It Cool News describing the Paley Heroes event, and previews of several upcoming episodes: "Linderman is explaining that he is responsible for the nuke explosion to come in NYC, and that the reason is the resultant crisis will unite the rest of the world! He alludes to having a power, being part of a earlier group who were doing good deeds, but later fell apart; some of them becoming the cabal we've seen so far. He also feels he's doing the world a favor." This all means, definitively, that Bass was right about Heroes being adapted from Watchmen.

I don't know...the whole thing with Peter being the bomb is now bs? It's not like the show to have this hige crisis and then leave it alone.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

See, that's what I mean. We don't know in what capacity the above spoiler, if true, links to what we've seen. Imagine it as a jigsaw - we're seeing pieces, but they don't join to the pieces we have, because there's other pieces we've not seen.

I think it'll work out.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I was interested to read recently that Sylar will be in Season 2. I had heard previously the character would be killed off by falling out a window, but either that has changed or was false to begin with. I like the idea, as he represents a perfect arch-enemy for Peter.

SPOILERS!
Apparently Mrs. Petrelli played a larger role in the whole "conspiracy/plot" than was suspected (despite some obvious involvement being evident through her revelations to Claire). Its also interesting to note that the main characters all might be the children of the previous generation's team of super-heroes (like their own JLA or Avengers). The Primatech company is supposedly an off-shoot or sub-section of a larger corporation run by these former heroes (its possible Linderman, Hiro's Father, the Petrelli's father, etc were all members or even enemies of this superhero team). We'll learn a great deal more about this before the end of the season, but the Conspiracy will remain an underlying plot-thread well through season 2, according to Kring--though the explosion will be resolved in the series finale. This is all according to the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Only after they went all conspiracy-angle Black-Ops. I think Claude himself is a pretty good guy, too good to be considered a villain anyway.

Well, here's what I think.

Remember in Company Man when Bennet met with Thompson, right before he met Claude?

Thompson said something to the extant that the others can't find out.

Now, I'm thinking that this older generation of Heroes made a society ( somewhere I read that Simone's name was changed so that the writers could use the Deveraux (sp?) Society) of evolved humans, and regular humans.

Linderman, Hiro's Dad, Mr. Petrelli, and others were a part. Some, like Thompson and Hiro's Dad, didn't like where the leader, Mr. Deveraux, was going with it. So they formed the Company, to do their covert ops thing. This all began when Deveraux grew ill and was hospitalized. So the Society was pretty much disbanded, and the Company swallowed it, taking over.

Now a few people, like Mrs. Petrelli and Linderman, want to combat this, but go about it differently. Linderman thinks that by blowing up a city, he can help the world. Destroy one of the most corrupt cities, which also holds one of the Company's HQs.

I think Claude is a good guy too. He's one of my favorite characters on the show.

Also, I think Meredith( Claire's real mom) might be working for Mrs. Petrelli. She went to Mexico to do some assingment for the Petrelli Mater.

I really like how everything is interconnected, giving a feel of all this history.

This is what I hoping for. That the bomb plot would be resolved and something else would take over to drive the next season or two.

Yup. Like I said, the reports seem to indicate that Season 2 will focus more on the previous generation of Heroes, giving more backstory and explanation for their motivations in the present day.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Sylar has been made a regular for Season 2. So I gues he won't be getting killed anytime soon.

Plus, Tim Kring, in an interview:

Tim Kring, creator of NBC's Heroes, revealed to SCI FI Wire that the first-season finale will comprise the last three episodes of the year, will bring all of the main characters together in New York—and will ultimately result in the deaths of one or more heroes. "The whole thing converges in New York, ... and they're all there, and all of them play a role," Kring said in an interview at Wizard World in Los Angeles on March 17. "Even though some may feel like they're less significant to the final event, when you analyze it, each one had to play that role in order for the final event to be solved, and so there really was a kind of destiny quality to them coming together and having each one fulfilling thing and one specific role." [...] As for the deaths? All Kring will say is that people die, including main characters. "The thing is, people knew fairly early on that they might not make it through the season," Kring said of the cast members. "Everybody, every actor that we've spoken to. I mean, ... we've spoken about this idea, that on this show the story is king and everybody is in service of that story. It's not a star vehicle. No, the show does not live or die by any one character. And so every actor should realize that at some point their ticket might come up. It's both sad and exciting at the same time." Kring added: "It became very important that if we were going to set up the stakes of a villain and a conspiracy, the stakes would just not be real unless there were some deaths along the way. But the one caveat is, on a show like Heroes, you may not always stay dead. And with our ability to go back and forth in time, you may be dead, but you may show up on the show a few more times." The season finale will also set up the show for season two, Kring said. "There is a cliffhanger quality to some of the episode, but more in terms of what is the fate of some of our characters, as opposed to what the story is going to be," he said. "Although we do have a one, I hope, shocking sort of spoiler for what season two is going to be. A premonition of ... what we're calling volume two."

I couldn't find the link, but had the interview. So don't stone me!

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I just downloaded the first season of this show to see what everyone was talking about. Watched the first 4 episodes.

Wow. This is great. I'm hooked.

:? am I the only one who thinks 1/2 the actors on this show can't act

Yeah. Some of the corny dialogue probably doesn't help either.

EDIT: It might also be because I don't care for any of the characters other than Sylar and Hiro.
