dragonballmovieblog said:The internet has been a buzz with the talks of a supposed early draft of Dragonball written by Ben Ramsey. Initially I wasn't going to post this, but considering the film has gone through several major rewrites since then I'll give it a shot.
You can download the pdf here.
So, what do you think? Is this real? Fake? Good? Bad?

Screen Daily has a report on the 20th Century Fox presentation at the 2008 Cinema Expo in Amsterdam. According to the site, Dragonball footage was shown at the reel presentation.
Delegates were also shown footage/trailers/teasers for thriller Mirrors (starring Kiefer Sutherland), French box-office hit Taken (starring Liam Neeson), Mark Wahlberg's new film Max Payne, The X-Files: I Want To Believe, Dragonball, romantic comedy Bride Wars (starring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway), Night At The Museum 2, and unseen footage of Tom Cruise Second World War drama Valkyrie.
I can't say it's an out and out terrible and egregious idea for him to play Max Payne, but yeah that is kind of meh.Wahlberg as max payne?
Wahlberg as max payne?

And I say this as a crazy psycho fan of Max Payne.
You haven't heard about the Max Payne movie?
It sounds decent, actually. We'll see.
I know people say this about video game based movies ALL the time, but I see absolutely no point in making a Max Payne movie. You haven't heard about the Max Payne movie?

I'm reminded of the live action movie versions of Street Fighter (the 90's version with Van Damme) and Double Dragon (with that kid from Party of Five).
Doesn't bode well.
Yeah, I'm disappointed.
It looks crazy in the wrong way.
They should take the insanity of making an American adaptation of a Japanese anime and RUN WITH IT.

I don't think this will be bad as them at all.
Still not seen a teaser or anything yet to truly judge it one way or the other. The poster looks cool and gives the feel of how Transformers was made live action to me. I'm still exited for it.
Considering its directed by a guy who has produced nothing but duds, I think that should be a sign of the quality of this upcomming film.
Plus they couldn't even hire some famous people to help sell this? I mean its not like DBZ is that well known in America. Instead we have Spike from Buffy and what's left of Ernie Hudson's career. That's not going to be able to sell this.
