I wasn't exceptiong this film to be good and I'm not excepting the sequel to be good, but I love good movies and I hate bad ones, especially if they are based on comics. I love bashing bad movies, I bought Ebert's "Your Movie Sucks" because I love bad movie reviews.
I'm not too stupid to realize the first sucked, I said it over and over again I will contiue to say that about the sequel, because I love bashing bad movies and you can't stop anyone from doing so.

I finally saw this.....
Oh good God it was horrible! I mean bad bad. There are no amount of special effects or moderately weak fight scenes that could save this.
The story is based on a cartoon that draws out a 2 minute fight to 12 episodes.....so its not like we could expect anything like a Tom Clancy novel.
The special effects look like the were made by Window's Movie Maker.
The fights are weak. Really weak. Nothing that would require months of training during pre-production. Even when they started flying and fighting in air, there was no fighting! They were fighting....but NOT fighting. Weird.
As a fan of the cartoon growing up, it was disappointing to see this horrible adaptation.........if you can even call it that. I need to watch another movie now because there is no way I'll be including this in my 365 Days of Movies experience. Maybe I'll go watch Elektra or Ghost Rider. Hell...after seeing this, I'm dying to go watch Halle Berry's Catwoman. Hear that? Dragonball makes me want to watch Catwoman.

I don't know why, but I have faith that The Last Airbender, while deviating from the storyline heavily (that I have not read), will actually be a really entertaining kid's action film.
Unlike Dragonball, which was a complete mess all around. The only thing the movie got right was how cool it is to have a bike appear out of a small capsule. GO CAPSULE CORPS!
But other than that, this film is a complete "must avoid".

The Last Airbender is a cartoon, so it's not something you can read. :wink: Still one of the decade's best shows.
I've been meaning to watch this with some friends, if only for an MSTing.
