DAREDEVIL #88
Written by ED BRUBAKER
Penciled by MICHAEL LARK
Cover by LEE BERMAJO
This month features a stand-alone issue entitled, THE SECRET LIFE OF FOGGY NELSON, a special interim episode focusing on Daredevil's recently deceased best friend. Did we really know all there is to know about Foggy? What remains hidden in the life of this man, that could still affect Matt Murdock's fate to this day?
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

Interesting, some people are speculating that Foggy's death was faked to screw with Matt even more. This issue could certainly help this rumour.

I would go  if that happened....

I really hope Foggy's dead -- dead. I just don't see how a conspiracy could work without Matt picking up on it somewhere.

On another note I really dig how DD is drawn there...

Yeah, I want Foggy to stay dead as well, or it'll seem Brubaker can't keep anyone dead...

Red Skull, Bucky, Foggy...

From Wizard World...

The latest issue of Wizard has some DD info:

In a Civil War article, Ed Brubaker said...

On Matt Murdock:

I think Murdock is seen as the example of what happens to you when your identity becomes public.
On Daredevil:

In #87, it's going to be revealed who the other Daredevil is. That's going to be a major plot point in Civil War, too.

There's also a feature on Wizard's guesses as to who the mystery DD is... with comments from Brubaker (which you'll have to read in the magazine). Here were their guesses and the odds applied...

Hawkeye 2 to 1
Spider-Man 4 to 1
Iron Fist 8 to 1
Shang-Chi 8 to 1
Moon Knight 10 to 1
Hand Ninja 50 to 1
Elektra 100 to 1
Taskmaster 200 to 1
Matt Murdock 1,000,000 to 1
Brian Michael Bendis No odds

I hate when Weizard does "the odds" games. Some of those choices are depressing and stupid and doesn't give any such hint as to who it is.

The above news sounds cool though #87 isn't so far away.

You forget that all of my choices were based off of fan speculation from MANWITHOUTFEAR.COM and JINXWORLD. I'm not raggin' on this "odd feature" specifically. I just haven't liked any of the ones I've seen.
I'm only messin' with ya.

Right. Carrying on.

What "secrets" do you think Foggy has?

Wasn't he gay for Matt in one story? Or am I just making this up?

I bet he's the new Green Goblin.

[[I met Michael Lark today]]...at the Toronto Comicon. I chatted with him for a very long time. Look for an interview with him for the site soon (I hope).
He's very happy to be working on this title... he considers it to be a highlight of his career. He says that the preview image that was released by Marvel for #87 is in fact the cover now. He wasn't aware that Marvel had revealed the cover artist for #88 (Lee Bermejo) as well. He had been keeping that info a secret.
I didn't learn anything about the mystery DD (because I didn't ask), but he was psyched to talk about how great next issue is going to be with all the various characters in the prison.
We also talked about David Mazzucchelli, his favourite DD artist. Anyway, if you ever get a chance to meet him at a con, you won't be disappointed. A nice guy who I'm happy to say REALLY loves what he's doing on the title.

So it looks like that image is the cover and could very well "just be a cover".

I voted No, I don't read Daredevil. I'd like to see an Ultimate Daredevil Ongoing Title.

I would like to see it as an ongoing title as i think fans of daredevil would read it but also I was under the impression besides the ultimates that the ultimate comics were done to get new fans who either a) liked the orignal but never had time to buy them all , b)were introduced through movies. c)was introduced through games.

Daredevil had a movie , He was in a couple of games (e.g Marvel nemisis) and had a big fan base so He should get an ongoing ultimate comic.

same with hulk , punisher and blade

Yeah, but the 616 comics for Daredevil and Punisher are both damn good and almost completly continuity free. If you start reading Daredevil at the begning of Bendis's run you'll have no problems with it. Punisher MAX might as well be an Ultimate title with very little connections to the rest of the marvel universe atall. I can't really speak for The Hulk as I don't read it, and Blade can't even carry a normal ongoing, so I doubt they'll give him the fifth Ultimate.
