Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. discussion (spoilers)

First Look: Thor Star Jaimie Alexander Meets the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The episode, titled "Yes Men," is scheduled to air March 11.

"We always have our radar up for ways to tie our series into the Marvel films and bringing in an Asgardian really cements that connection," says executive producer Jed Whedon. "Lady Sif comes here on a hunting mission — sent by Odin — to find her arch-enemy Lorelei and bring her back to Asgard. It throws our agents for a loop when they find themselves in a fight right alongside this powerful woman from Thor's world."

I'm going to assume Sif is sent by
Loki posing as Odin
given the ending of Thor - The Dark World.

... Ah crap. Sorry, man!

That was a pretty dumb plot twist any way. It came out of nowhere and changed the whole point of the comic. There are still a lot of cool things that happen in the series.

I AM sorry though.

It's all good man. It's only a Hickman comic. If you had spoiled a Jeph Loeb, Jason Aaron, or Brian Michael Bendis (among others) there'd be trouble :p

It's only fair, I spoiled some things for him accidentally so it's only right he spoil some things for someone else accidentally. It's all about sharing the pain.

That said, if it's not a relatively new comic, you can't fault people for talking about it.

True enough. I probably should mention that I can be spoiled when I bring up a comic I'm reading/haven't read anyway.

She's actually in the Thor comics I am currently reading by Walter Simonson.

I'm a little surprised at the amount of people that haven't heard of her. Walter Simoson's run is legendary.

The internet would snap in two if Tom Hiddleston showed up

Hey! This is the really far out there idea I had. Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking it.

It's back next week. And the episode is called, "Tahiti". I'm excited!

Yep. I'd also expect very few repeats or breaks between now and May, when the first season will wrap up.

We should also be hearing soon about how the show will tie in with the events of Captain America - TWS, given that comes out in a little over 5 weeks.

Two really great episodes back to back. This episode was amazing.

The whole thing with where Coulson was treated "not being part of SHIELD" (on paper anyways), but being a secret location that Fury knew about was cool. That's so Fury (cue sitcom)!

Let's say the whole rumor thing about Skye being Spider-Woman is true, could this serum somehow play into that? Like give her powers? Interesting thoughts to think about.

I feel like I should what that half-body-dead-alien should be, but man... no clue. Looking forward next week with Sif's appearance.

After this episode I'm not sure Skye will become super-powered, as Coulson was given the same serum and hasn't shown any signs of super powers yet (well... besides coming back to life days after dying).

We'll see.

Yeah I have no idea what that was. Is it an alien? Is it some SHIELD experiment, or the result of some genetic experiment run by Centipede or some other villainous group?

So far the best I can come up with is that it may be a Kree, given the blue-skinned humanoid appearance, and it obviously experienced some trauma before SHIELD captured/obtained it.

If it is a Kree, I'm wondering if they're not laying some groundwork to tie it in with Guardians of the Galaxy (not directly, as the Agents aren't going into space nor do I think the GotG will be coming to Earth, but in a tertiary sense of introducing the Kree on AoS here (and building on it between now and AoS's season finale in May as a lead in to GotG coming out in August).

True, but doesn't meant the serum could react differently with her body. Not saying it will, just that there's always that possibility.

They did all sorts of stuff to Coulson as well though, with Skye it was just straight serum. Damn good episode.

The blue alien is for sure a Kree (introducing Guardians of the Galaxy's Ronan the Accuser)

Coulson was suffering many days to the blood because he is human, but Skye seems not as she reacted positively to the blood after few seconds.
Conclusion: Skye is a white Kree or a Kree-Human hybrid.

This reinforce the Mantis' hypothesis to me.
The Kree blood will maybe open something closed in Skye.

fun fact: Mantis was called Lorelei in the Eclipse Comics.

or it could be:

The rings, the bracelets, the hair, the scarf, the skin, a girl, the alien origin (carol danvers received Captain Marvel dna and that's what gave her her powers)...

I very much doubt it. The new Ms. Marvel was created long after the script for the show's pilot was created and was being filmed.

But maybe it's the opposite: Skye inspired the new Ms. Marvel look.

Going with the new look and with the old origin could be a good mix for the MCU Ms. Marvel.
