Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. discussion (spoilers)

Tonight's episode was pretty mediocre.

Fantastic episode! Ending has me so pumped!

Yeah, I'm with wyokid on this one… which is new. I liked getting to know a bit more about Sif. I'm also reading Walt Simonson's run on Thor right now, so it was cool to see some of that on screen. Even when Sif kissed Ward in front of May was very much from Simonson's Thor.

And the list of blue aliens was just kind of a cool hint at the expanded universe. I really like how much continuity tie-in was in this episode.

And yeah, I'm intrigued to see where the whole Coulson secret is heading, especially knowing that May is keeping tabs on him for someone else (presumably Fury).

In other new, Adrian Pasadar (Nathan Petrelli from Heroes) is going to play Gung Ho… I mean Glenn Talbot in an upcoming episode of Agents of SHIELD.

You mean Lorelei? The episode wasn't bad, and there were some cool developments and nods to continuity (which I always love), but the episode just kind of fell flat for me. Granted after the previous two episodes ratcheting up the quality level maybe I'm expecting too much, but the episode just didn't do it for me. I did like the May spying on Coulson thing, and I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out (it'll undoubtedly play a large part in the Uprising related episodes that tie in with CA-TWS and SHIELD's approach to world security).

Yes that was all very cool. I loved all the blue aliens Sif named off, that was great.

This is pretty exciting.

I agree with Cap France and Wyokid, it's nice to see a Hulk-related character brought onto the show.

Oops, yeah. In the Thor comics she kisses Loki, who looks like Thor when Sif is walking by just to screw with her.

Ah, ok. The episode was interesting at least in the fact it shed more light on Sif's history and character. It was cool how Lorelei mentioned Sif always seems to get looked over by her heart's desire (Thor, obviously, and Haldol?/Halgor? Whatever his name was, Lorelei mentioned using her powers on him previously, and apparently Sif and he were an item at one time). I don't know what it was that left me kind of "meh" about the episode, it just felt a bit flat and forced in some cases. I'll have to watch it again and see what's what.

Awww, crap. Next new AoS episode isn't until April 1, with another new episode the following week April 8.

Between the Olympics and the repeats, AoS is averaging only like 2 or 3 new episodes a month. That average will likely go up, though, as I'm sure they're planning the season finale (Episode 22) for May sweeps, which hopefully means we'll only see 1-2 weeks with repeats or alternate programming during April and May until the finale, which I'm thinking will probably air May 20, a day before the Nielson sweeps end.

Yeah, it's not really going to do anything to their ratings. If anything it could improve them because people will have had a chance to catch up.
