Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. discussion (spoilers)

So not only is Mike Peterson returning in next week's episode, but the Girl in the Flower Dress (Raina) and the guy that was in prison who mentioned "the clairvoyant" is also back. Looks like they'll be addressing some of the continuing plot lines next week. That also explains why they repeated Girl in the Flower Dress tonight, as a lead in to next week's mid-season finale.
 
Tonight's episode was decent. Tied a lot of previous episodes together and set in motion the answers behind Coulson's resurrection and Skye's parents, one of which is undoubtedly May based on her actions in this episode and comments made in the previews for the next episode; airing January 7.

Also loved the reference to the cellist. Thinking we may eventually get to out a face to her once Coulson discovers the truth about him coming back to life.

Also Victoria Hand will be returning in the next episode, and no surprise, but the executive producer alluded to Graviton returning soon. There will also be two new agents joining the team in Episode 14, but not sure if they'll be regulars or recurring.

The 2 new agents must be here to watch the Coulson's team.
I don't know why, but I'm feeling they will be sleeper agents, working for Robert Redford (which I think is Red Skull or Zola).
 
I wonder if the clairvoyant is some form of MODOK-esque leader for Centipede (which is actually AIM).

Is it just me, or does that Raina woman creep anyone else out? That scene in the car with her and Po was just weird.

Cool episode though.

Ah ok. I was disappointed they killed off Peterson in last night's episode. I liked him and thought his abilities could bring a lot to the team. Plus the team is desperately in need of a black guy. It's all whites and Asians currently. Figures, the black guy always dies first. :(

I doubt Redford's character is Red Skull or Arnim Zola. Definitely not Zola unless he managed to escape SHIELD custody after his capture during WWII in the first CA film. Though it would be a cool twist if he was Red Skull, that'd require Skull somehow returning to Earth/our dimension after going wherever he went at the conclusion of CA-TFA. I have a feeling he's either just a SHIELD higher up who has a twisted view of morality/accomplishing what he thinks is right, however horrific it may be, or a different Cap villain posing as that person. I'm not very familiar with Cap's villains so can't really make any suggestions. Guess we'll know for sure in 4 and a half months.

Villains should be creepy. :)

As for the Clairvoyant, I don't know. It'd be nice if it was a character from the actual comics instead of another one created for the show. This show is the perfect opportunity to bring in some C and D-list characters and hasn't capitalized on that much at all, other than Graviton and Victoria Hand (and Sitwell, but technically he was introduced in the movies already in Thor and Avengers, as well as the Consultant and Item 47 One Shots).

Technically Coulson died first. And who says he actually died? He may still be alive.

Yeah, I'm sure Mike Peterson is alive.. I mean, it was not a huge explosion, and when we see what he did before with a bulldozer or a wall, I doubt about his death.

Maybe. Though from his stab wound and needing to take time off to heal, I took that as the Centipede formula not speeding healing or increasing durability. Of course we know Extremis does, which the Centipede formula is based on. But, I'd think Raina and Po would know how to kill off someone who was powered by Centipede, and they knew Mike was with SHIELD (hence kidnapping his son). Course it's also possible they rigged the explosion merely to throw SHIELD off their track and prevent them from following them. We'll see.
 
My friend and I are going through the episodes again because he was behind and things are making so much more sense now. Even tiny things like why Ward is so overprotective of everyone. They did this very well.

Pretty sure there was a to be continued at the end of that Marvel Zombies Hostess parody and that didn't make it anymore canon.
