But what if somethings ridicoulouly fun? :dazed:
I don't see that happening with this book.

Ridiculous does not equal fun.
Not that I disagree with you, but what if Bendis is having MJ keep her powers to provide a logical rival to Shadowcat, who's distinct advantage is superpowers? :shock:What he's done to MJ is so obviously temporary, that i sincerely doubt he had to talk anyone down about it.
There is nothing logical about this post. Sorry, but having MJ turn into a big ugly thing isn't going to make dating Peter any easier for her. It would only complicate things further. Not that I disagree with you, but what if Bendis is having MJ keep her powers to provide a logical rival to Shadowcat, who's distinct advantage is superpowers?
That's assuming she doesn't know how to control it. We don't know that yet. Not that I want it to happen, but if MJ turns into this thing when she feels like she's in danger, and she can control it, then that negates his main concern about her safety.
the next arc is supposed to be called "death of the goblin" so maybe bendis is going to have MJ keep her powers at the end of this arc and have her die in the last arcMaybe Aunt May or MJ is going to die.
Probably Aunt May.
What he's done to MJ is so obviously temporary, that i sincerely doubt he had to talk anyone down about it.
Editors dont like deaths of Spider-man's supporting cast, because he doesnt have much of a supporting cast.
... Actually with some further thought, i'm guessing its Spider-Woman that got Macchio up in arms. A female Peter Parker brings up some weirdly possible scenarios that would make any editor of a comic slightly uncomfortable. It breaks a Taboo, and also ultimizes a character who exists in 616 with NO ties to her 616 character.
Can't argue with you there, but this is Bendis we're talking about. Peter also seems to think that Gwen being Carnage is perfectly fine too, and Carnage is a man. I wouldn't have changed MJ to begin with. Bendis seems to want to ignore the obvious actions to push the melodrama. If I was Peter, I'd definately choose Shadowcat. Honestly, MJ's goblin form looks like a dude...

hehehehe i said pretty much the exact same thing about two months ago in the clone saga speculation thread and you all called me crazy WHO'S CRAZY NOW?!
I thought of that months ago too..but it is the WORST idea ever. It would be a ridiculous solution to Peter's dilemma: Here's two beautiful girls..one's nice and loving and kind but helpless..the other isn't but is as shallow as a puddle. Lets kill the great one and keep the super-powered one. Because Peter works best with a super-powered girlfriend. ( heavy sarcasm) Sarcasm aside..( my sarcasm and anger is directly solely at Bendis ) It would be a cheap solution, however I'm afraid I can see it coming from a mile way. If MJ dies..and with Gwen out of the picture, this book has officially lost everything that made it special. They are forgetting that it's Peter Parker that makes the book work, not Spider-man.

Despite the fact that I'm against MJ receiving powers, Bendis could have made her Firestar and it would have been better than Demogoblin. The OZ formula gave Norman and Harry the ability to create fire. They could have done the same thing with MJ, but had the mysterious creator of the clones (Richard, Ock or otherwise) perfect the OZ formula, eliminating the Goblin effect.
Yes..I am with you. They could have made her something nice. They didn't have to do that to her. It's disrespectful to her character and to us fans. I felt actually insulted, that a writer would do that to my favorite character just for shock value. I am hanging on to see if it can be fixed, because I have confidence that there is a limit of how much the writer can do a major supporting character and get away with it.Despite the fact that I'm against MJ receiving powers, Bendis could have made her Firestar and it would have been better than Demogoblin. I'm not surprised. It's the same Tinkerer that thinks a gun and any kind of beam weapon is the best way to hit spider-man. Oh yeah, I forgot, in the UU it is. :roll:Somehow I expected more out of the spider-slayers. Don't ya'll think Tinkerer would've taken into account Peter's strength and made it where his robots could at the very least withstand a single punch from him?

I really don't find the transformation to be that much of an issue, I mean how many of you remember Alicia Masters changing into a giant spider or Betty Ross mutating into a harpy? I'd assume none.
Anyway, the transformation idea is a rarely used neat story idea. It forces the hero to question how much he cares for someone; how he deals with MJ will truly reveal what kind of hero he is. No amount of baddy-bashing will prepare him for what's to come, morally.
Overall, I was pleased with the issue maybe not worth my $3 worth but solid, the inker [I beleive he's new] may need some work though.
