It was no masterpiece...
but it was WAY better than the first three issues.
Thor's 'talk' was silly, but Spidey sounded like Spidey for the first time in about 100 issues of USM!
I laughed in parts, liked the ending...
its almost like someone COMPLETELY different wrote this issue compared to the first three... y'know, like someone who agreed to write a book with friends, but realized one friend was being a jerk by writing a bunch of poop, and setting him up for failure, but then he came in and did a decent job with the poop he was given... like he cared that his name was attached to this project, instead of his friend, who just wants to slap his own name on anything, including the second issue (or was it the third) that was just one big confusing pointless fight, and it read in twenty seconds flat...the friend who is now OFFICIALLY the Michael Caine of comic writing.
"Oy. My how-chi-mama has p'dizzled all over the schmirtz... Oy vey"
-Michael Caine (or whatever his name is from the first three issues) writing 'dialogue' for the high-school aged, non-Jewish Peter Parker.
...and it doen't make it funny or self-aware after 80 issues to have him say "Oy - and I'm not even Jewish", like in issue 106. That's about as 'suave', knowing and clever as me saying "I meant to do that" after pooping my pants.
