Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

Hopefully he'll find a way to turn Ultimate Peter Parker into some sort of Spider-God.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that...

*gets worried for #4*

What makes it even funnier is that he has a Jewish girlfriend, who has never, ever said Yiddish.

Thats only because she doesn't want to be stereotyped. She's not worried about eating kosher food, but Peter likes kosher "just because".

Jeph Loeb on Ultimate Power said:
Brian would get us into all kinds of trouble, and then it would suddenly be crystal clear, and then all I had to do was just have a big fight scene that went for three issues.

Grimace enjoys fight scenes.

Ultimate Power #4 Discussion (spoilers)

No.

No no no. This series includes absolutely everything I hate about crossovers. Bad story, bad dialoges, pointless fights. Its really just embarassing, especially for all of us with fond memories of both the Supreme Power series (which was great) and the best stuff from Ultimate Marvel (like the first Ultimates).

So, Thor is suddenly speaking like a retard, even though he´s been talking perfectly normal english in the Ultimates up until now. And this Spider-man reminds me nothing of the lad from USM. For one thing, he looks fully grown. Otherwise the art is alright I guess, but nothing special, and Greg did a better job on his UFF-run in my opinion.

This comic strip does a better job at saying it than me:

The dialogue was better then the first 3. I was able to laugh! I agree that the story in general is stupid, but this issue was MUCH better then the previous ones. Land's art was not as good as in UFF, but I like the way he is drawing Reed.

I like art too. As a guy I really like how Kitty is drawn. It just fall under my "all comic artist are perverts" saying. Almost every shot of her has us looking up her skirt. And I agree with Quicksilver when he said the dialogue was better than the first three, and I was able to laugh at some stuff too.

Oh thank you. I was wondering how I could describe the retarded short bus crash that is Ultimate Power.

So yeah---a couple things:
  • Why does Thor talk like that? Did 616 Thor come to the UU and grow a beard?
  • Spiderman was annoying as usual. But he's drawn so grown.
  • Fury as comic relief? Yeah...pass.
  • Hyperion (I'm guess that's his name) floating above Earth listening for trouble ala Superman in "Superman Returns"? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?
  • Super conspiracy against Richards with Fury involved? Huh?
  • Just horrible flat characterizations all around

That's because Bendis wasn't writing it. Wait... did you genuinely not know that Bendis was off of it, and yet noticed a bog improvement? Because if so... HA!

Man, this was extremely sucky. I can't believe someone bothered to scan and upload this instead of the new issue of Spider-man Loves Mary Jane....which has FIRESTAR on the cover! FIRESTAR!
