Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

They decide to follow the message back to its source despite having NO previous knowledge of other dimensions (a scientist even asks "Other dimensions?" or something) let alone dimensional travel.

We'll just follow the transmission! I can't bake a pineapple upsidedown cake, but let's visit another dimension!

There's obviously more to it. All we found out is why the Squadron Supreme wants Reed Richards under arrest. We haven't found out how they managed to start manipulating his device. Perhaps Mr. "Smartest man on the planet" figured it out. Besides, it is Hyperion that we are talking about. The guy like that does not see limits the way others do.

Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

There's nothing more to it. You're just pretending something is being secretly crappy while it bides its time to reveal it's not crappy.

Their whole explanation for getting to another dimension is "we can follow the trail back to its source." That's it. Period. End.

It sucks.

I have to disagree seeing as you do not know that for certain anymore than I do. With that said, I'll agree with you if there is not any further explanation in the remaining six issues of the series that have yet to be released. Until then, I think I'll be patient.

I liked it. 4/5.

You shoudln't leave posts like that out there, Moonmaster will eventually come by and pillage it

The hard way

Though with you, I'd think you like it

The scientist guy was Emil right? The man is the smartest man on the planet and the Luthor analog.

He'd be able to trace the signal back to the source.

Why am I defending this?

Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

So i should stay far far away from this issue?

Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

It's like they're deciding to erase this whole mini from continuity while still writing it.
...I'm choosing to blame Bendis.
That's always the smart choice.

Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

Just for clarification, I went back and looked at this. . . story again and it was Nighthawk who said "We didn't even know there were other dimensions until four seconds ago" despite at least half the team having actually been in another dimension, and it was Hyperion who said "We'll trace it back to the source" as the only way of explanation as to how they got to the Ultimate Universe.

3.5/5

My only problem was when Reed explained why he sent the orb through. I completely forget it was to help Ben and I rolled my eyes when he said it again. This was especially tiresome after reading UFF because they brought up "Thing hates himself" there too. Seriously, would it have been so out of character if Reed thought to himself "**** Fury. I'm the smartest man alive and interdimensional travel could prove far more beneficial."

This whole mini is still a bad idea though but I kind've liked the issue. Especially the part with Reed giving up and Sue freaking out about it.

What are you complaining about? Reed is suddenly going to forget about Ben. And that is what he thought.

It was an okay issue.

IGN.com said this a good issue....................wow..

Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

I've never been to IGN.com but since they apparently loved USM 103 too I can't imagine why I ever would.

They also gave Iron man the villian of the year award.

Re: Ultimate Power #3 Discussion (spoilers)

This issue wasn't bad, but... nothing happened in it.

This whole issue could've taken six pages.

I agree.

It would be nice if we could have a clue or some idea as to the possibilities why these sensors would be growing aliens or whatever, but no. Nothing.

And Zarda saying "Oh my Lord?" What?!?!

I actually assumed there she was talking to Hyperion. I'm not entirely clear on their relationship, but it seemed to me she might refer to him as such.

But I don't have the issue in front of me, so if it's as stupid as you say (and I have no reason to doubt it is (and every reason to believe you)) then forget I said anything.

Could be...I read it as an exclamation along the lines of "Holy ****!" Not that she's the type of character who would say that, either.

With J. Michael Strazynski writing the next three issues. I have a feeling that a more scifi element is going to be in it more. My theory about these alien creatures that is invading the Supremeverse came from another parallel universe that somehow hitch hike along the ride with the probe. They could be bacterial that somehow evolved during their journey some how. They couldn't have come from the Zombieverse because Hyperion touched it and didn't get infected so that theory is out. Too bad because it would be nice to see some kind of continuity but then again we all read the Bendis issues. Man that guy should really do some research before writing something other than Powers and Ultimate Spider-Man.

Actually, that was apparently just some time travel, not dimension hopping, on the Squadron's part in the Hyperion mini-series (which I assume you're talking about). It could still turn out otherwise, but for now, we have to assume that actually was their dimension, just two years in the future.

I agree on all counts. Proceed...
