I'm gonna be pretty pissed off if Peter ends up being Jessica. It would have worked, maybe, in the openings issues of UCSM. Not so much now. Now, I think, it would just feel contrived.

It would've felt contrived either way, perhaps to a lesser degree had it been done earlier on, but still contrived. And its completely wrong (on a moral level, to bring up this point again) if Gwen had no idea the "Peter" she was dating was actually a female clone of the person she thought she spent her time making out with.

Bendis:

Something comes up in the next arc that's so damaging to Peter's life, and is so unique, that I'm looking forward to people's reaction to it. It will seem deceptively light-hearted for a while, then all of a sudden you're going to go, 'Oh my God! That's horrible!

in UCSM #5 the front of Spider-Man's shirt got ripped wide open, so i think that sort of removes all room for discussion.

And Shroud is Kitty. Period.

And did anyone notice Kitty's mom's key chain on the first couple of pages?

EDIT: @ Zeek, no, i don't. It was just fun to ruffle everyone's feathers. (i thought it was plausible several issues ago, but i just kept rolling with it b/c i enjoyed the reactions.

I got caught up on this series last night, and as someone who has never read Ultimate Spider-Man with any sort of regularity, I gotta say I'm enjoying the hell out of this series. Maybe it's just because the new supporting cast members are all favorite characters of mine, or that Mysterio is pretty awesome, but Bendis is nailing it with this series. I also love Lafuente's art (well except for the sphere headed Spidey). I honestly thought that this series would be treading water until Marvel canceled the Ultimate line, but I'm glad to see this isn't the case.

And anger. The way he reacted to Flash's bullying was too much, even for him. I personally listed him as a probable candidate when I heard him give 'Idiot' to Flash. He is now more likely than Kitty seeing how tall the Shroud is compared to Peter...

Have you seen how tall the Shroud is compared to Peter? And also the fact that he was able to withstand a lightning shot? Those aren't bullets, if they had gone through him, we would have seen it. I think it's definitely not Kitty...

I laughed at the gothic fangirl scene :lol: That was completely random, yet hilarious. And the "What?" of Peter

I'm really glad to see Captain Quaid again, I liked him! Now we just need Jessica in Enemy, Rick Jones in #7 and the return of the Bugle in #11, and the whole thing would be complete!

Hands down my least favorite part of the relaunch. Kong was one of my favorite characters in the series, probably my favorite non-superhero. But now I just can't look at him without thinking "man...what a douche."

Then again, Gwen's new look sucks too (as hip as Ultimate Aunt May is, I don't think she'd be cool with an eyebrow ring in her house).

As much as I like some of the new art, I really hate a lot of it too - mainly the faces. I think he'd be much better suited for anime or something. Although, as long as Bendis is writing, I'll be buying no matter who is drawing.
