Ultimate Comics Spider-Man (discussion/spoilers)

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

Apparently those issues of UCSM should tie in with the Ultimate Enemy event...

... the heck??? Lafuente is already out of the book? I thought he was there for the long run  Although it seems that he does the cover :

Well, your edit says it all. And before that, given that the first arc of Ultimate Comics Enemy uses all the UCSM cast, I thought that the issues of UCSM around that time would be linked to the event.

That cover is hilarious  But the cat fight between Gwen and MJ is too much if you ask me, the rest is good.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

In other news: Rick Jones apparently hasn't been forgotten after all.

And here I was, hoping that Bendis had forgotten about his anal rape of continuity that was Ultimate Origins. Silly me.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

The thing about that is you either are or aren't a lesbian...you can't be tricked into it (despite many women claiming exactly that happened to them in college).

I highly disagree.

Jessica being lesbian, or at least questioning her sexuality would make sense, but since Gwen is dating Peter, a boy, I think it's clear that she isn't a lesbian... or if she is, it's overruled by some kind of "Peter-sexuality" (Simpsons inside)

But the point was we were suggesting that she may not be dating peter, she may be dating Jessica.

I don't think this is the case by the way, it is an interesting what if that could seemingly fit.

The whole issue was brought by someone who said that no one, not even Gwen, know that Jessica took Peter's place. Gwen dating someone who she thinks is a boy makes her interested in men, even if the boy in question is in reality a girl. I think that's what DIrishB reacted on.

It will just be for those two issues.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up, Carlos Mencia.

Anyone who can use Carlos Mencia in a burn like that is going to get a Post of the Day.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

hahaha
i should post theories about heroes actually being their female clones living in secret lesbian relationships more often.

The past page and a half of this thread have been awesome!

So you're saying you can be tricked into it? Thats the greatest trick ever.

;)

I really need to start putting [/joke] tags on my attempts to be funny.

Exactly. I said it was morally wrong to lie about your identity to someone you're carrying on a relationship with, regardless of your sexual orientation.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up, Carlos Mencia.

Thats just wrong. I don't steal my material. It'd be a lot funnier if I did.

Yep, in fact 616 Spider-man got a lot of grief from that very idea, which when you add sex is technically rape.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

Could the shroud be Rick Jones?? Hmmmmmm...

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

Yes, he did  Wouldn't have thought of using that as an insult, personally.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

Bendis:
I'm thrilled at the reaction, not only to the storyline but to David Lafuente, who is a very different artist [from the previous "Ultimate Spider-Man" artists]. He's a Spanish manga artist, and that's not something you see every day. I know it's an acquired taste for some, but I've seen him win people over left and right as more issues come out. I really want to voice my appreciation for those who are open to a different style and interpretation. And for those who are worried about Peter's hair, it will be dealt with in an upcoming issue.

see, I told you he was a girl.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 2 (Discussion/Spoilers)

Bendis:

see, I told you he was a girl.

I'm taking this as the explanation for the hair:

The events of 'Ultimatum' lead to a number of reactions, most of them sad. There would also be a lot of anger and punk rock style rage, too, and that's what is motivating the Shroud."

As in, "I'm Spider-Man and I've seen a lot of ****ed up **** in the past year, so I'm going emo with my hair...or something."
