4. Loners
5. Runaways
6. Irredeemable Ant-Man
7. New X-Men
8. Immortal Iron Fist
9. Astonishing X-Men
10. Ultimate Fantastic Four

New:
10. Runaways - I can't believe I was excited when I heard that Whedon was taking over. He's flushing this book down the turlet one extremely late issue at a time.

9. Astonishing X-Men - I think I'm still waiting for the same issue as the last time I made this list.

8. Immortal Iron Fist - Consistantly good, but rarely great.

7. Y: The Last Man - I only pick up the trades and I haven't read a new issue in months. So I can't let it into my top 5 where it rightfully belongs. Still great though.

6. Teen Titans - DC cracks the Top Ten! Woo. This series is pretty good. And Blue Beetle is so entertaining in it that I'm going to go look at his solo series.

5. Captain America - Bru has me interested in Cap for the first time in my life. Now if he could only resolve a single plot point...

4. New X-Men - Kyle and Yost can write some really interesting stuff. Then they kill people and I get angry. I hope they get the bloodlust out in X-Force and let these kids be for a while.

3. Ex Machina - Just started this series last month. I'm on vol. 3. Don't spoil anything for me or I will kill you.

2. X-Men - Every issue Carey knocks it out of the park. Even during Messiah CompleX he is clearly head and shoulders above the other X-writers.

1. Fables - So good. Why didn't I believe you people sooner!?!

1. Captain America
2. New Avengers
3. All-Star Superman
4. Punisher MAX
5. Daredevil
6. Astonishing X-Men
7. Y: The Last Man
8. Jonah Hex
9. Fell
10. Immortal Iron Fist

1. Captain America

3. All-Star Superman
4. Punisher MAX
5. Daredevil
6. Astonishing X-Men
7. Y: The Last Man
8. Jonah Hex
9. Fell
10. Immortal Iron Fist

E, you forgot to put Fables on your list.

10-Fables

Fables if one of my favorite books of all time, but the current arc just seems to be missing something. I love it, but there is something off.

9-Action Comics

Geoff Johns are doing some of my favorite Superman stories so far. It's not higher on the list as I don't care to like the current Legion arc as much as the others. Gary Frank does great work on the art.

8-Thor

I don't even like Thor and I love this. Copiel pencils are definationly a highlight. JMS is doing a great job reestablishing the status quo. Loki's a chick, Asgard is in the desert, and Iron Man got punked.

7-Ultimate Spider-Man

This book really got a breathe of fresh air. The second book I started collecting when I started comics, this one has a special place in my heart. Fast witty dialogue. great art, and a great story.

6-Justice Society Of America

This is the 2nd Johns book on my list. With the introduction of the Kingdom Come Superman and hints toward something huge. This book really is great. The scene with KC Superman fighting the JSA to save a young girl committing suicide was very inspiring.

5-Daredevil

There is a slow buildup to something Brubaker is planning. He recreated a brilliant Mr.Fear and his use of the Hood is perfect.

4-Astonishing X-men

Whedon's take on the X-men is classic already. His dialog is really the highlight along with Cassandy's stunning artwork.

3-Green Lantern

The Sinestro Corps War is over and it's time to lay the seeds of the huge 2009 "In Blackest Night". There is no comic story I'm looking forward to more. Geoff Johns is my hero.

2-Punisher MAX

Punisher vs Barracuda. I love it. And Ennis FINAL arc is coming next.

1-Immortal Iron Fist

I love everything in this book, the story, characters, art. Everything.

THE OLD LIST
10. Ultimate X-Men
9. Justice Society of America
8. Green Lantern
7. All-Star Superman
6. Daredevil
5. Y: The Last Man
4. Walking Dead
3. Captain America
2. Fables
1. Fell

I have to drop Fell from this list simply because there's only been one freaking issue since the last time I put together a list... Its fantastic, might even be some of the best stuff Ellis has put out in ages, but until it gets something close to a regular shipping schedule, it doesn't make the cut.

But here's the new list:

10. Fables
The pacing of the current story-arc is a bit off, but I can forgive that since the book is still incredibly good... I really have no idea where they'll go next, but after all of this plot, I could do with some new characters to freshen up the pot sometime soon.

9. New Avengers
Just keeps getting better... Apparently all the MU needed was more shady spy-stuff, with lots of double crossing, and alien invaders to make their world interesting and good again. And finally that his workload doesn't number in the double digits, Bendis is proving himself to be one hell of a writer. Woo!

8. Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season Eight
So here's the thing... I didn't think Whedon's arc on the book was anything too special... It read like a mediocre episode of the show, and only had moments of greatness. BKV brought this book up to pure, solid gold greatness. If you're a fan of the series, and you're not reading this book, you're insane.

7. Booster Gold
The only good thing to come out of 52 besides the series itself... Booster deserves this book and I only hope it can sustain itself past it's first story-arc.

6. Ultimate Spider-Man
Almost as good as it was when it began; a new artist pushed Bendis into thinking a bit more about how he was writing this series, and that extra effort has paid off immensely. I don't miss the sheer numbers Bagley spat out in the least... I love the fact that I'm excited to read this book on a monthly basis again.

5. Doktor Sleepless
Ellis gives us another terrifying vision of the future through the eyes of your typical Ellisian Mad Scientist/Saviour... Three issues in and i'm hooked. If you're not reading this, you should be.

4. The Walking Dead
This book never wavers, and can never come out fast enough for my liking, particularly now as everything seems to be falling apart. Kirkman has shown us time and time again that this series is all about uncertainty, and it certainly seems like our characters will be hitting the open road once again, and soon. A new supporting cast to replace the eaten seems in the mix for the future.

3. Omega the Unknown
A bizarre comic by one of my all-time favorite novelists. It took some getting used to the indy-style of the book, but it fits and seems to be shaping up into one of the best things Marvel has produced in years.

2. Captain America
Setting up Bucky Barnes to be the next Captain America has revived the character in a way that absolutely nobody could have predicted five years ago... Brubaker has built up a character drama that spans the Marvel Universe and shows me everything it can and should be. I can't wait to see the books new direction with Bucky in the suit.

1. Green Lantern
Geoff Johns is writing the definitive Green Lantern every month. The Sinestro Corps War hit me harder as a comic book fan than any other company event in years... He's redefining this characters, and more impressively, the mythology it's all built upon.

Honorary Number Awesome - Y: THE LAST MAN
Ends in a few short weeks, Y is going to be remembered as strongly and fondly as any of the other great works of Vertigo Comics. In scale and quality, this book holds its own alongside your Sandman, Swamp Thing, and Preacher collections. Once the last trade hits the stand, do yourself a favor and pick it up if you haven't... and If you have, revisit it... This book is best read en masse.

I'm really impressed with Ex Machina, Captain America and Green Lantern at the moment. I'm so glad I don't read mediocre comics anymore.

10 - Thunderbolts
9 - Thor
8 - Ultimate Spider-Man
7 - Action Comics
6 - Dark Tower - The Long Way Home
5 - Daredevil
4 - Green Lantern
3 - Punisher MAX
2 - Justice Society Of America
1 - Immortal Iron Fist

Honorable Mentions
Batman
Captain America
Catwoman
Fables
Iron Man
Legion Of Superheroes
Nova
Ramayan 3392 AD Reloaded
Spawn
Tiny Titans
Fallen Angel

10 - Green Arrow <-- For real.
9 - All Star Batman <- For real².
8 - Fables
7 - Captain America
6 - Batman
5 - Invincible
4 - Incredible Hercules
3 - Booster Gold
2 - Justice Society of America
1 - Green Lantern

Justice Society of America - Geoff Johns/Alex Ross/Dave Eaglesham - When I first started reading this, I didn't think it was that great. It just seemed a like a bunch of old heroes and new ones taking on lame villains. Also, there were pointless one shots that I didn't care about. That all changed when the Kingdom Come Superman appeared. This comic just got ****ing exciting... and all the upcoming stuff seems even better. Magog. Earth 2. The Justice Society Elite or whatever. This comic is great. I've also gone back and read Johns' previous run... that was off the chain. He's made all of these characters I never cared about cool.

Green Lantern - Geoff Johns/Ivan Reis/ - While I don't have much interest in this current arc, I don't think I will ever give up on this comic after the awesomeness that was the Sinestro Corps War. That is how you do a comic event. The Blackest Night is going to be insane.

Action Comics - Geoff Johns/Gary Frank - This book has been a bit of a mess. Inconsistent art, delayed conclusions... it's taken a while to really get going. But now it is. Brainiac, mother****ers. The fact that Johns is going to be updating all of these villains like Toyman and the like, making them make sense when they choose a hero like Superman to fight... it's brilliant. It's also going to be tying into Robinson's Superman run and a possible third Superman comic. Also, it made me interested in the Legion of Super-Heroes. What the hell. I didn't think that was possible.

Booster Gold - Geoff Johns/Jeff Katz/Dan Jurgens - I can't believe I actually like this. But man... the Time Stealers. They are awesome. Led by Bosoter Gold's evil dad dressed up as Supernova, they include Per Degaton, Ultra Humanite, Despero and an evil Blue Beetle analogue from the future called Black Beetle. This comic is the **** and it's going to be sad when the writers leave.

Yeah. I pretty much love Geoff Johns.

Ex Machina - Brian K. Vaughan/Tony Harris - It rarely comes out, but when it does, I enjoy it so much. This is a brilliant comic. Now that Runaways sucks and Y has ended, I need to get my BKV fix anyway possible. I'm just glad that there's still one of his quality comics coming out.

Daredevil - Ed Brubaker/Michael Lark - While it's been kinda weak lately, I still trust Brubaker. Now that Rucka is coming on to co-write, thus reuniting the Gotham Central team, I sense great things to come.

Fables - Bill Willingham/Mark Buckingham - Fables is great. I don't know what's happening anymore, but it's great.

All Star Superman - Grant Morrison/Frank Quitely - This comic is visually amazing. Also, I have newfound faith in Morrison now. This comic makes me feel very happy and very sad. It's nuts. It's also made me like Superman again. It's a good year for Superman. Three quality comics will be coming out around the same time. It's nuts.

Fantastic Four - Mark Millar/Bryan Hitch - I really like this. I've never really got into the FF before, but this is really neat. I wish this was a 36 issue run rather than 16. Oh well. I'll still have Wolverine, War Heroes and 1985 and this other mysterious character he's working on to look forward to.

Green Lantern Corps - Peter Tomasi/Patrick Gleason - I can't think of any other comics I'm really enjoying (maybe Iron Fist), but I recently picked up the two issues of this run and it's really neat. I like the idea of Mongul trying to take over the Sinestro Corps. This should get really good in the months to come.

There. Those are ten comics I really enjoy. I'm hoping it will get even tougher to choose which ones are my favourites in the months to come, considering what is coming. Final Crisis. Legion of Three Worlds. Rogue's Revenge. Wolverine. 1985. War Heroes. Superman. Avengers/Invaders. Uncanny X-Men. Astonishing X-Men. Lots more I'm forgetting.

I think this year is a good year for comics.

Old List
10. Runaways - Is this still being printed?
9. Astonishing X-Men - Read above.
8. Immortal Iron Fist - Moving up in the world.
7. Y: The Last Man - Fin.
6. Teen Titans - What was I smoking?
5. Captain America - Meh.
4. New X-Men - Gone.
3. Ex Machina - Drops a bit.
2. X-Men - Gone.
1. Fables - Holding steady.

New List
10. Astonishing X-Men - Dropped a spot. Mostly because only 1 ******* issue has come out since the last time I did this list. Can't wait for this to end.

9. Avengers: The Initiative - I believe it was djf who recommended me this book, but it was only when the Irredeemable Ant-man made his way over that I started reading. The scene between him and Taskmaster clinches this spot.

8. DMZ - Y has ended. But I found a new Vertigo book. Not quite as good as Y, but what is?

7. Invincible - All caught up with the trades. Love it.

6. Scalped - Curse you, Doom! It's good!!!

5. Blue Beetle - I've bought the first two trades. This is very good once you get past all the One Year Later crap they had to deal with.

4. Ex Machina - Still very good.

3. Immortal Iron Fist - The Mortal Kombat arc has been better than I ever could have hoped.

2. Incredible Hercules - Like I said to TOG. This book is awesome. The characterization is spot on, the plotting is great, Ares makes a much better antagonist than he does a protagonist, and it's just a really fun read. If you aren't picking this up, do so. Now.

1. Fables - Still great.

Once Traci 13 shows up the book was great. The last issue was spic with the the old Superbuddies showing up to help him.

Old Standings

10 - Y The Last Man - One of the most epic stories I have ever read. It's a shame this masterpiece is coming to an end next issue. The story of a lone boy growing to a man in a world of women has rung so poignant as a mirror to the chauvanistic bullying of society today that this book seems to be a wake-up call...............or at least a really good comic with dirty words.

9 - The Initiative - Wow....never thought I'd be adding this book to my Top 10....but it's begun to grow on me. Sometimes the art is sharp and dark like the book needs to be...and then there's times when the art looks cartoonish silly. But either way, Slott is doing a damn good job of shaping up Tomorrow's Registered Heroes.

8 - New Avengers - I don't know where Bendis is going with all this......but the ride sure as hell is pretty awesome.

7 - Thor - If for nothing else....Coipel's art completly owns me. Every month I look forward to the week when I see a new Thor. Granted JMS is taking his swet time with progressing the story....but Oliver's beautiful artwork is more than enough to pacify me for now.

6 - Astonishing X-Men - A bi-monthly shipping schedule holds this book back from being in the Top 3. But when it does ship......man look out! There hasn't been an X-Book this exciting and awesome since Clinton played the sax on Arsenio.

5 - Ultmate Spider-Man - It's back baby! The wise-cracking, wall crawling teenage superhero icon is back! No more ugly art by Bagley....new life has been breathed into this book by the beautiful art of Immonen. And while the current "Death of a Goblin" arc is similar to Bendis' "Ultimate Six" arc....this one, by comparison to his previous 4-6 arcs, has been a blast to read.

4 - Fables - I'm tiring of the "Good Prince" arc and dying to see something new. But still....with that said....this book is consistantly better than anything that comes out that week. Or even month.

3 - Immortal Iron Fist - Kung-Fu Billionaire. That's all I need to say.

2 - Scalped - Following at a close second is Jason Aaron's "Scalped". There's a reason IGN has named it the best new series of 2007. Because it's that good. Sex, money, drugs, maize. Yeah...it's gritty, shadowy art is only matched by it's dark storytelling of Native-American mobster-run Indian reservations and betrayal. I'm telling you....you won't be disappointed in this book.

1 - Punisher MAX - For 50+ issues, Ennis has given us the definitive Frank Castle. It's gonna be so sad to see him go. I really don't think anyone will ever match his run. The only person I can think of that would do almost as good a job is Jason Aaron. But even still......there is no better Punisher story than that of Ennis' Punisher MAX.

New Standings

10 - Thor - JMS has given us a true god of thunder. Not some golden-haired pretty boy who tussles it up with the local heroes.....but a true god of thunder who has more to deal with than some silly Initiative or Secret Invasion. Though the series may move slow, the intense character development cannot be denied. And Coipels' art is off the ****ing chain!

9 - Fantastic Four - Earth is dying. Reed's helping build a new one. Johnny has a super-villain girlfriend. A giant robot with Capt America's color scheme is kicking the **** outta all of Marvel's heroes. And all this is brought to you by Millar and Hitch. Yeah....the Ultimates Millar and Hitch. It's fantastic (............pun intended).

8 - New Avengers/Secret Invasion - 2 titles that pretty much go hand in hand. Bendis has been building towards this for a year now and it's finally here. Now I'm just hoping this doesn't fizzle out like Civil War.

7 - Fables - The Good Prince arc kinda dragged on.....but now the war has started and I cannot wait to see where Willingham takes us! I'm keeping this up on the Top 10 outta sheer excitement.

6 - Buffy the Vampire Slayer - With BKV's arc in the bag and Whedon back at the helm making Buffy a lesbian and fighting a mysterious new foe with kick-*** powers....this book is back on it's way to being as awesome as the show. And have you read the issue where Xander and Dracula are totally gay for each other? Buffy gold at it's finest.

5 - Walking Dead - Kirkman has grabbed a hold of me and taken me for a completely enthralled ride of terror and suspense. From beginning to end, this book keeps you engaged in the survival story of Rick and his fellow companions as they struggle to stay alive against zombies and crazy self-appointed one-eyed townies! And this last arc has had me on the edge of my seat. If you're a fan of suspense....this is a book you definitely need reading. Too bad his other ensemble book Ultimate X-Men isn't as good.

4 - Ultimate Spider-Man - Like a classic Rocky bout, this book came back with a thundering combo! Death Of A Goblin and Amazing Friends have been the 1-2 combo this book needed to stay in the fight. Bendis is back in rare form here coupled with Immonen's super-kinetic art.

3 - The Sword - BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL! I love this book so much that it hurts. The Luna Bros are one of those creative duos like The Wachowskis. You either love 'em.....or you hate 'em. I love 'em. Some might not like the art.....but damn if the mystery the story is bringing you isn't rocking your socks off! Well my socks at least. And I like being barefoot.

2 - Scalped - I said it before and I'll say it again....Scalped is hardcore. Not just in terms of graphic visuals, foul mouthed words, or anything else that would warrant it to sit behind the "No Kiddies Allowed" glass case at your LCS, but because it expertly weaves various tales and sides of the story into one cohesive plot that is as gripping as any critically acclaimed TV drama.

1 - Punisher MAX - Ennis......what do I have to do to get you to stay on this title? Just tell Doom what he needs to do and it's done. Bank robbery? Kidnap J-Lo's new twins? Disrupt the American stock market? Bake a basket of banana nut muffins? Just say the word. I think a bit of me might die inside when he finally leaves.

I read the Spider-Woman: Origin book and have fallen in love with the Luna Brothers. I want to check out more books by them. So who does The Sword?
