OLD
10- Buffy Season 8 - Pretty the same as Doom said. It goes well with my rewatching the series lately.

9- newuniversal - Same classic Ellis. And Lalvador is at his finest ever.

8- Immortal Iron Fist - I never thought I could care for Iron Fist. But Faction and Brubaker brings new levels to the character and the art is very dark and gritty. I love the Iron Fists of old.

7- 52 - Only one issue left and every single one was enjoyable.

6- Daredevil - This book never fells to be enjoyable. Brubaker might even surpass Bendis.

6- The Dark Tower - The Gunslinger Born - I need to get the book series after reading this. And Lee is one of my all time favorite artist.

4- Hellblazer - After a crappy 12 issue run, Diggle as took over and showed lot of promise with a kick *** 2 issue story.

3- Justice League Of America - I love the writing and the art. The first arc really captured the mythology of the characters.

2- Fables - If you have to ask you should be slapped.

1- Punisher MAX - It's the mother****in Punisher.

NEW

10 - X-Factor - A mutant Noir book with great character interaction, drama, comedy, action, and Layla Miller. What's noto love.

9 - Captain America - I read the Civil War trade last night and realize how good this is. All the supporting characters and villains make this.

8 - Fell - Creepy police drama is awesome.

7 - newuniversal - If superpowers happened in the real world. This is what I expect to happen.

6 - Daredevil - Real court drama and superhero action. Brubaker is a genius.

5 - JLA - My favorite team book behind AXM. Much better than any Avenger title.

4 - Fables - Fables is probaly my favorite comic but it's hard to rate monthly. It reads better collected.

3 - Immortal Iron Fist - With every new issue that comes out, the more I fall in love with this.

2 - Punisher MAX - Ennis was born the write this. Whole new levels to Castle's war on crime.

1 - Astonishing X-men - Whedon is a genius and the X-men have never been finer since Morrison.

Honorable Mentions
Jonah Hex
Dark Tower - The Gunslinger Born
Uncanny X-men
Hellblazer
Green Lantern
Buffy Season 8

I'm sure ourchair wants one for his house, too. So ah...
I am like Marvel Comics because I have the House of Ideas.

Oh how the world would be a better place with my ideas.

Especially the ones involving TwilightEL's cousins.

Uncanny X-men

10. Ultimate Fantastic Four: Carey's run is picking up in Silver Surfer, Ferry's art is amazing.
9. Flash: Mark Waid Starts a new run and re-booted title, with Wally West.
8. Ultimate Vision: Solid story, good characterization, excellent art by Peterson.
7. Avengers: The Initiative: Amazing art and a good story involving the Initiative recruits.
6. Ultimate Spider-Man: Immonen's on board, Bendis is starting to bring back good stories (Ultimate Knights, the Talk) new Goblin arc should be good.
5. Astonishing X-Men: Always great story and art; if only it came out sooner.
4. Justice League of America: McDuffie starts soon, and of course the Injustice Gang is back.
3. Ultimate X-Men: Kirkman is gold, too bad he doesn't have a good artist (besides Paquette).
2. Justice Society of America: Geoff Johns can do no wrong. Next month is Damage and Zoom.
1. New Avengers: Bendis at his best, the Skrull conspiracy should be great.

I need to start getting Green Lantern.

Old Standings

10 - Scalped - It's Sopranos....on an Indian reservation. Full of cussing, fighting, gambling, drugs, prostitution, mobsters and FBI/CIA double agents and a badass named Dashel Bad Horse. Believe me when I say that if you wait too long to get into this....you'll be kicking yourself like I am for not reading 100 Bullets.

9 - Ultimate X-Men - It took me a while to find Kirkman's groove. But now that I'm in line with his train of thought, it's all good. His fresh ideas and knack for building foundation ontop of foundation is awesome and he's quickly making UXM the crown jewel of the UU.

8 - Welcome To Tranquility - This is a tough one. It's a mystery starring retired superheroes. The art is great and the characters are quite inventive. To be honest---you could go without reading it....but I recommend it over some of the abismal other mainstream titles like Amazing Spiderman. It's really worth a shot.

7 - Robin - Plain and simple................this is what USM should be.

6 - Buffy Season 8 - Buffy.....you think you can come back into my life after this long hiatus and expect me to just love you like I used to? Well.....ok. Fine. I will. And I do.

5 - newuniversal - One of the better comics out there that no one is reading. The pacing is a little slow in some issues and fast in others. Very simply...if you like NBC's "Heroes"...then you like this. And it's ELLIS!!! What other reason do you need?

4 - Astonishing X-Men - The quentissential X book. It was almost a toss-up between this and New X-Men. But in the end....it was Whedon's characterizations that got me. And can you really top "Yeahbuwhat?".

3 - Nightly News - My newest love. You are all slaves. Slaves to your love. Slaves to your jobs. Slaves to your homes. Slaves to your cars. Slaves to your lives. And why are you slaves? Because Big Media says so. The Voice wants to set you free. Welcome the truth and become The Hand of the Voice.

2 - Fables - It is the reason we read comics. Period.

1 - Punisher MAX - Between this and the Barracuda mini.......I am in heaven. I repeat...there is no way any sane person can read this series and NOT fall madly in love with it. I'm serious. If this book was a real live person....it'd obviously be a man. And I'd go gay for it. Not just gay. But flaming gay. And I'd donate myself to science in order to find a way to have it's babies. There is no other way I could've put that.

New Standings

10 - Y The Last Man - One of the most epic stories I have ever read. It's a shame this masterpiece is coming to an end next issue. The story of a lone boy growing to a man in a world of women has rung so poignant as a mirror to the chauvanistic bullying of society today that this book seems to be a wake-up call...............or at least a really good comic with dirty words.

9 - The Initiative - Wow....never thought I'd be adding this book to my Top 10....but it's begun to grow on me. Sometimes the art is sharp and dark like the book needs to be...and then there's times when the art looks cartoonish silly. But either way, Slott is doing a damn good job of shaping up Tomorrow's Registered Heroes.

8 - New Avengers - I don't know where Bendis is going with all this......but the ride sure as hell is pretty awesome.

7 - Thor - If for nothing else....Coipel's art completly owns me. Every month I look forward to the week when I see a new Thor. Granted JMS is taking his swet time with progressing the story....but Oliver's beautiful artwork is more than enough to pacify me for now.

6 - Astonishing X-Men - A bi-monthly shipping schedule holds this book back from being in the Top 3. But when it does ship......man look out! There hasn't been an X-Book this exciting and awesome since Clinton played the sax on Arsenio.

5 - Ultmate Spider-Man - It's back baby! The wise-cracking, wall crawling teenage superhero icon is back! No more ugly art by Bagley....new life has been breathed into this book by the beautiful art of Immonen. And while the current "Death of a Goblin" arc is similar to Bendis' "Ultimate Six" arc....this one, by comparison to his previous 4-6 arcs, has been a blast to read.

4 - Fables - I'm tiring of the "Good Prince" arc and dying to see something new. But still....with that said....this book is consistantly better than anything that comes out that week. Or even month.

3 - Immortal Iron Fist - Kung-Fu Billionaire. That's all I need to say.

2 - Scalped - Following at a close second is Jason Aaron's "Scalped". There's a reason IGN has named it the best new series of 2007. Because it's that good. Sex, money, drugs, maize. Yeah...it's gritty, shadowy art is only matched by it's dark storytelling of Native-American mobster-run Indian reservations and betrayal. I'm telling you....you won't be disappointed in this book.

1 - Punisher MAX - For 50+ issues, Ennis has given us the definitive Frank Castle. It's gonna be so sad to see him go. I really don't think anyone will ever match his run. The only person I can think of that would do almost as good a job is Jason Aaron. But even still......there is no better Punisher story than that of Ennis' Punisher MAX.[/QUOTE]
