How would you rate Thor?

Hmm... it looks pretty good. I'm not sure about the "badass action" stuff but it looks pretty entertaining.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the action either. Seeing Thor swing that hammer around well, it seemed kind of cheesy. But I'll try this movie out.

More like Thor going through a facility of guys or the shot from every action movie where they all walk towards the frame in slow motion.

I'm sure it will be fine.

It looks great! I am excited for this than I was for Iron Man. From this alone, it looks like it can be better than Iron Man, but we'll see.

I really liked it, I love their what they're doing with the story. I don't think it will be the best Marvel film but still pretty damn cool

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I have AMBIVALENCE!!!!

For example; I can't begin to care about Asgard and the whole HAMLET storyline, though they look very toyetic (which I like - it's like KNIGHTS OF THE ZODIAC!) and it's frickin' Anthony Hopkins, I think the spectacle is a-grade but the substance will be eye-pokingly boring. MY ASSUMPTIONS BE THESE!

However, the whole Coulson stuff with no one knowing what Thor is and if he's really a god, and the terror of the Destroyer, gets my juices going and I wuv it. I'm hoping that all that Asgard stuff is the backstory that's told throughout in flashbacks, and the present-day story and the focus is all about Thor vs the Destroyer and whether or not he's actually a god. WE SHALL SEE.

So yes, I am half super-excited and half-meh. WHICH SIDE SHALL PREVAIL!?

WOW!!! I am half super-excited and half-meh for the exact opposite reasons. I liked the Asgard stuff and find the "is he a god or just crazy" part to be excruciating. (again, like you said, assumptions) But I didn't like that in Ult's either. What can I say, I am an old school Thor fan tho so I like the "thou" and "thee" speak and I love the stories where he is fighting witches and demons and giants and elves etc. If I never saw Thor and any other mainstream marvel character on the same page (or screen) again that would be fine with me. When he is fighting giants and gods and the hordes of Hel he is the most powerful guy around. When he is in the Avengers suddenly the Wrecker is slapping him around.

But I am totally psyched to see the fight with the Destroyer.

Mike, if we were in a 1950s comic, we'd get hit by a ray gun, and be merged into two entities, one who hated everything about the trailer (Hate-Man) and one who loved everything about the trailer (Fan-Boy). Eventually, we'd realise that balance is a necessary part of life and we'd allow ourselves to be hit by the ray gun and coalesce into our two more balanced people.

Agreed. Except a true 50's ray gun would prob actually turn us into Hate-Frog" and Fan-Cat".

Oh those whacky 50's!!

I'd love if they do the whole is he/isn't he thing but I'm not sure how well that would work in the movie when the focus is Thor. This idea worked brilliantly in the Ultimates because Thor was not the main character and it was separated from 616. If they try to convince the audience that he may not be a god I think that would fail because the audience would bet heavily on him not being crazy. But it is a great tone and situation for his interactions with earth bound characters as long as they don't focus on getting us to wonder about it like the Ultimates did.

I'm wondering if they should do Asagard flash backs or have the first act be about Thor getting cast out, the second act be him on Earth and Loki's rise to power, and the third act be these two plot lines converging.

Is it me or does Chris Hemsworth sound exactly like Heath Ledger? It's not just because they're both Australian, I mean neither of them sound like Hugh Jackman, Bon Scott, Mel Gibson, Hugo Weaving, or the Crocodile Hunter....It's just whenever I hear Chris Hemsworth talk, I think of Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You.

All Australians sound alike and are criminals. I hate foreigners.

Your words, not mine. This is the no-spin zone, I'm fair and balanced. I report, you decide.
