TV Links shut down, operator arrested.
...f***.
This is a huge pain in the *** for me, because they mainly brought the house down on it for the huge amount of movies they had links to, which I didn't use. I mostly used it to watch TV shows that I don't think you can get on DVD, like A Haunting.
Also, I probably wouldn't have gone and bought EVERY SEASON of Scrubs on DVD if I couldn't have watched the first bunch of episodes online first to see if I liked it. It made the studios money on that one.
Oh, and keep in mind that TVLinks has NO pirated material of its own. All the site does if list links to OTHER sites with with pirated shows.

It's an outrage. I didn't use the site and know next to nothing about it, but you simply cannot hold someone responsible for the content of sites that they simply link to on their site. He's not facilitating copyright infringement any more than Google does.
You'd think The Guardian's Katie Allen would actually take note of that. It's an outrage. It is true that it provides links to pirated content, but that's calling it a 'pirate film website' is deliberately misleading. One of the world's most-used pirate film websites has been closed after providing links to illegal versions of major Hollywood hits and TV shows.
The first closure of a major UK-based pirate site was also accompanied by raids and an arrest, the anti-piracy group Federation Against Copyright Theft (Fact) said today.

She's so obviously lacking in fact-checking and/or objectivity since she wrote:It is true that it provides links to pirated content, but that's calling it a 'pirate film website' is deliberately misleading.
Piss poor journalism.
EXACTLY.Exactly. My dad works for the news and I told him about this today. He's looking into doing a story on it tomorrow with the subject specifically being that the guy hasn't commited piracy any more than Google has.
Why, that amount is only limited by the size of your Internet pipes.
I meant 'bandwidth'. Just an expression.you mean tubes right?
Looking back on it, I'm surprised no one accused me of perverted innuendo.
  :lol:Yeah but accusing you of that would be stating the obvious. Like going up to Jesse Jackson and saying "hey did you know you're black?"
