The Music Thread : It's So Easy To Fly Through A Window

If I ever met you, I would pay you to sit through my computer and organize my music. I don't have hardly the patience you have. You must a be the Patron saint of Music or something.

It takes a LOT of patience. Lots of searching and visiting a lot of different sites to get dates correct and quality album art.

Alanis Morrisette makes unbelievably horrible music. Some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard in my life.

Boooo!

This morning I listened to Poodle Hat by Weird Al...and it is brilliant. I don't know why I never gave it a chance.

I love Genius in France, such a wonderfully funny tribute to the late Frank Zappa.

Yesterday, I heard Kimya Dawson's "Hold my Hand" in the Emerson bookstore. I thought it was the worst song ever and it made me want to kill myself, so I tweeted that. Then Kimya Dawson retweeted it.

I heart Pogo so hard, Upular is one of his best mixes, like, ever.

I've started and it sucks. I've clocked about 16 hours now and have completed maybe as many albums. I haven't even got to the Beatles yet and I'm still downloading and adding new albums and tracks. The best part; picking up my leg and accidentally breaking the usb for my keyboard. My tower sits on the floor. I just bought that thing 4 months ago for my ps3 because typing on a controller sucks. I'm out 50 bucks now. FML.

New Girl Talk! I just listened to it this morning. It's even better than Feed The Animals.

"Shimmy Shimmy Ya" by Ol' Dirty Bastard over top of "Creep" by Radiohead. It's brilliant top to bottom.

This is amazing.

I've got a number of CDs that I've had for years and never really listened to for whatever reason. I've been going through and giving them a listen.

One of them is Welcome To Wherever You Are by INXS. It is so good. I wish I had "discovered" it sooner. I always liked "Beautiful Girl" and "Not Enough Time" but every song on it is great.

Also, The Lady Killer by Cee-Lo is excellent. I didn't care much for his other albums but The Lady Killer is great.

Another great album I just got around to listening to - No Dice by Badfinger. Pure awesome.

So, I've been thinking of getting a turntable.

When I visited my parents' place for the holiday I rifled through my Dad's record collection and most of them are in surprisingly pristine condition. Perhaps most exciting is a first edition of MC-5's Kick Out the Jams and Leon Redbone's From Branch to Branch. I didn't get a chance to play any of them, but I know what I'll be doing when I go up there for Christmas.

Also, Grinderman was apparently in town recently. I didn't even realize until a few days later when I asked my friend what he'd been doing and he told me he'd seen them. Does that make me a terrible human being?

I'm sure there's other things that qualify you for that.

Kick Out The Jams on vinyl would be awesome.

I just bought and listened to the Prospekt's March EP by Coldplay.

I don't have any idea how Jay-Z is as big as he is. Ive never heard a song by him that I don't hate. Including "Lost+" which is on the aforementioned EP

Jay-Z is just about the only current rap I can tolerate.

Prospekt's March is OK but Viva la Vida is one of my favorite albums ever.

Only one I don't have is Kanye's.

I have to agree with you totally on most of this. I also like the Beastie Boys (dunno if Timbaland is considered rap or not), but all in all, I can't really get into much rap outside of some random singles.
