There's a few stinkers but much like The Kinks they had a lot of relatively unknown (compared to their previous efforts) stuff that's really good.

It was just announced that the next Beck Record Club project will be Kick by INXS. That is so awesome. I have the Velvet Underground and Leonard Cohen albums and they are really good - I didn't know about the Skip Spence one until just now and will be downloading it shortly.

Post Pet Sounds stuff is indeed great. Wild Honey, Friends, and Sunflower and Surf's Up especially. Though the early stuff is pretty wonderful too, even if the lyrics seem silly or juvenile. Brian Wilson is the kind of rare musical genius we're probably only blessed with a couple times a century.

one of my friends just turned 21, for his first few time out clubb'n i thought i'd get him the song "Ugly Friend" by Maddwest (remind him the types of hits he might have to take for us ;) ).......it took my 20mins to find out who sings this song.....can't hardly find it ANYWHERE on the net......but good 'ol youtube, came through....so enjoy, it might be 6+ years old. but it was last month at the club.

Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti is one of my favorite albums. I've been listening to it all day.
 
The upcoming Stone Temple Pilots album has leaked - I listened to it and it's their best since Purple. That might not be saying much but it is really good.

I also listened to the new Black Keys album 'Brothers'. I wasn't aware of their work outside of "When The Lights Go Out" which was used in Black Snake Moan but I did really enjoy it. I'll have to check out some of their other stuff. Reviewers compare them to the White Stripes...I guess the stripped down style is similar but the songs aren't really much alike. Like the White Stripes it's just a guitarist and drummer.
