The DVD purchase thread

I saw they have all four Superman films at Target for $10. Almost bought it.

yeah, i bought that last winter. It's a good deal.

I wanted to buy the Batman quadrilogy in that format too, but they hadn't released it in the 4in1 DVD set, so I bought the 4 movies separately for $11 each...I was in Walmart today and saw the 4in1 set for $12...
:-x

For my birthday I just bought Moon, The Science of Sleep, City of God, Brazil, Gus Van Sant's Last Days, Beverly Hills Ninja, The Cable Guy, Me, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal, and Batman: The Animated Series Volume One. And Proj, I had Bronson in my hands but ultimately had to put it back on the shelf because I didn't have enough money.

The last time I bought so many movies at one time was a couple weeks ago when I got Mulholland Drive, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, The Life Aquatic, Rushmore, Ed Wood, Kung Fu Panda, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Stephen King's IT, Raw Deal, The Rambo Collection, and Mysterious Skin.

I'm planning on getting Bronson, The Royal Tenenbaums, Ichi the Killer, American Movie, The Basketball Diaries, Magnolia, Brick, Blue Velvet, Insomnia, Heat, Braindead, and The Rocky Anthology (I'm looking for one that just has the first four movies, because I don't really care for five and six).

Recently I bought special/definitive editions of The Departed, There Will Be Blood, The Green Mile, The Big Lebowski, Fight Club (I own the basic edition) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I also just ordered Mask of the Phantasm and Batman: The Animated Series Volume 1 (the only set available in this region) for $15!

A couple of weeks ago I bought special/definitive editions of Alien (I own the basic edition), Aliens, Goodfellas, Terminator 2 and Gladiator. I also bought a three pack thing containing American Beauty, Forrest Gump (I already own this) and A Beautiful Mind.

Before that, I bought all of Six Feet Under because it was on sale.

I haven't watched any of them. :(

I'm looking for Bronson, Shadow of the Vampire, Salem's Lot (the original and the mini-series), Fright Night, Near Dark, and a couple others. Also, I let someone borrow Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind, 500 Days of Summer, Hard Candy, Bubba Ho-tep, and The Shining almost a year ago and they haven't returned them so I might just have to buy those again (or hire a hitman).

I should, to make you all jaw-drop in terror at cheapitude of UK dvds, the list of dvds I have waiting for mine eyes to watch.

That had better not be a crude euphemism.

Not at all. Proj, Strangefate, Gothamite, even E have seen inside my DVD cabinet many times.
